About the team and the role:
At eBay, trust is the foundation of every interaction between buyers and sellers. As we expand through new commerce experiences, acquisitions, and strategic investments, our Trust team plays a critical role in ensuring safe, consistent, and trusted experiences across our growing ecosystem.
As Senior Manager, Trust Strategy & Operations – New Platforms, you will own the strategy and execution of initiatives that extend eBay's trust capabilities to new businesses, platforms, and subsidiaries. You will assess trust readiness, scale existing capabilities, and develop strategies that support business growth while strengthening marketplace integrity.
What you will accomplish:
- Shape trust strategy for new platforms: Lead trust readiness assessments for acquisitions, subsidiaries, and critical initiatives, identifying risks, capability gaps, and priorities to support successful integration.
- Scale shared trust capabilities: Develop long-term strategies and roadmaps that extend existing trust solutions across eBay's businesses, reduce duplicated investment, and support sustainable growth.
- Drive strategic investment decisions: Find opportunities to strengthen trust capabilities, develop business cases, and partner with Trust leadership to prioritize investments based on business needs and impact.
- Deliver high-impact programs: Lead multiple initiatives from planning through execution, establishing clear objectives, success metrics, and accountability to achieve measurable business outcomes.
- Build cross-functional partnerships: Collaborate with business leaders and teams across Trust, Risk, Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Legal to align priorities, gain support, and drive adoption.
- Improve operational effectiveness: Establish operating models, governance structures, and decision-making processes that simplify complex initiatives, remove barriers, and accelerate delivery.
- Lead and develop a team: Build and mentor a team of strategy and program leaders, supporting their development while fostering collaboration, ownership, and effective execution.
What you will bring:
- Relevant experience: 7+ years of experience in eCommerce, Trust and Safety, Strategy & Operations, Management Consulting, or related fields, including increasing leadership responsibilities.
- Critical thinking and execution: Experience developing long-term strategies, assessing priorities and trade-offs, and translating complex business challenges into actionable plans and outcomes.
- Cross-functional leadership: Demonstrated ability building effective relationships, influence decisions, and align partners across different teams, businesses, and organizational levels.
- Platform and business strategy: Experience finding opportunities to reuse and scale capabilities across multiple products or businesses while balancing investment and business priorities.
- Program leadership: Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives, establish clear ownership and success measures, and deliver results in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Communication and partner engagement: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present recommendations, build consensus, and influence senior leaders without direct authority.
- Marketplace and customer understanding: Knowledge of trust and safety, marketplace dynamics, and the importance of balancing customer experience, risk management, and business growth.
