Software Engineer, AI & Automation

Job Description
We are expanding how AI and automation are used within Technology Platforms. In this role, you will build solutions that make infrastructure operations more efficient and improve engineering experience, while having the opportunity to shape new capabilities and take ideas from concept through to production.

You will join a small, cross-functional team within Technology Platforms, the part of Danske Bank that keeps our technology estate reliable, secure and efficient. The team builds agentic and workflow automation that reduces operational complexity and makes engineering work better. You will collaborate closely with engineers, process specialists, architects and stakeholders, and your work will directly shape a capability that is still being formed, giving you real scope to contribute meaningfully from day one.

You will:

• Design, build and maintain secure agentic automation solutions
• Develop multi-agent orchestration, enterprise integrations and RAG capabilities
• Build automation that improves operational processes and engineering experience
• Apply strong engineering practices across testing, security, CI/CD, observability and documentation
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions
• Bring strong software engineering experience, preferably with Python
• Turn ambiguous needs into clear, practical solutions with good attention to quality and delivery
• Act as a technical leader in agentic AI development, sharing your expertise, mentoring other engineers and helping establish strong engineering practices across the team.

About you:

• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, vector search, prompt or context engineering
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, containers or enterprise-scale automation environments
• Interest in building meaningful solutions from the ground up
• Ability to contribute your perspective early and shape how the capability develops
• Comfortable working in a hybrid model, with three to four days per week in the office
• Collaborative mindset, supporting knowledge sharing and team culture
• Motivation to learn, grow and develop alongside an emerging capability

We offer:
Monthly salary range from 4960 EUR to 7440 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
