Job Description

They are craft experts who are fiercely user-focused and always deliver the highest quality work, not just for themselves but for all languages. They are role models who guide and influence other writers and they improve the quality of everyone’s work by thinking beyond copy and considering the user experience in its entirety.

They are capable of influencing the future of their product and/or track strategy and results. They drive and contribute to bigger strategic initiatives on their teams/tracks - collaborating with the appropriate roles to define long term strategies. Senior Copywriters are keenly aware of how their work aligns to business priorities and they always think critically about how they (as individual contributors) can have the biggest impact: whether that is through solving tricky product challenges, troubleshooting tooling and system issues, or kickstarting community projects. They are champions of craft guidelines and our global brand Tone of Voice.

  • Safeguards the voice of Booking.com using available guidelines such as Tone of Voice, craft guardrails, Inclusivity and Accessibility in copy creation, recognising the words they write as the voice of the company. Identifies and drives the creation of new guidelines for areas when necessary
  • Strategically approaches copy and is capable of creating testing plans, value propositions, or identifying new approaches to processes or implementations that improve existing and/or future systems and solutions
  • Actively seeks out, requests, and contributes to the creation and collection of data and actively interprets it to help inform product and UX decisions. Able to use Booking's data systems relevant to the product area to independently collect and interpret data for projects
  • Contributes to the vision and roadmaps for a product, including longer term assessment of future needs and maps current work against it
  • Promotes their domain in the copy community across their BU in order to spread awareness and create a more consistent user experience
