Job description

Senior Technical Product Manager, Automotive HMI & Embedded
The opportunity

Make Unity run everywhere, and make it matter to the people building the next generation of vehicles. Drivers and passengers now expect consumer-grade interactive experiences in the car: digital cockpits, instrument clusters, infotainment, and multi-screen HMIs that blend 3D with navigation, media and ADAS. Unity is at the forefront with a scalable, high-performance real-time 3D runtime and the Unity Editor workflow that designers and engineers already know.

We're looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Automotive team. You'll own the product direction for how Unity ships on embedded platforms like Android Automotive OS, QNX and Embedded Linux. You'll work directly with automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers and silicon partners to define what we build, why, and in what order. You'll work closely with Engineering, Product Design, Program Management and our go-to-market teams to turn customer and partner needs into a roadmap that ships in production vehicles.

You'll report into Industry product leadership and work alongside a small, senior team spanning Engineering, Product Design, Program Management, Partnerships and go-to-market.

What you'll own

  • Product strategy: A clear, evidence-backed strategy for Unity's embedded and automotive runtime: where we play, where we don't, and why.
  • Roadmap and prioritization: What gets built and in what order, balancing customer commitments, partner programs, hardware changes and long-term platform health. You'll make hard trade-offs and explain them.
  • Executive communication: Writing and presenting product strategy, business cases and roadmap decisions to internal and external stakeholders. Representing Unity's product direction in executive conversations with automakers and partners.
  • Opportunity validation: Running discovery, proofs of concept and business cases that lead to clear go/no-go decisions on new customers, partners and features.
  • Product definition: Turning what you learn from customers, partners and the market into crisp requirements and success metrics that Engineering can act on.
  • Commercial input: Working with pricing, partnerships and go-to-market teams on packaging, licensing and deployment models.

What we're looking for

  • Senior product management experience: A track record of setting strategy and shipping platform, SDK, runtime or embedded software products, including making and defending hard prioritization calls.
  • Executive and strategic communication: You can turn a complex technical and commercial picture into a clear recommendation. You've influenced senior leaders, inside your company and at customers or partners, through clear writing and presentations.
  • Strategic thinking: You can size an opportunity, understand the competitive and partner landscape, and connect product decisions to business outcomes.
  • Automotive or strategic partner experience: You've built and maintained relationships with automakers, Tier-1 suppliers or major technology partners, and you understand how they buy and make decisions.
  • Technical credibility: Working knowledge of embedded operating systems (such as Android Automotive, QNX or Embedded Linux), real-time graphics and performance on constrained hardware. Enough to make sound trade-offs with Engineering and hold your own with customer technical teams.

You might also have

  • Experience in automotive HMI: cluster, infotainment, ADAS visualization, map navigation.
  • Experience shipping games or interactive real-time 3D experiences, or working with real-time 3D engines.
  • Prior engineering experience in embedded, graphics or platform software.
  • Experience with software licensing or usage-based commercial models.
  • Experience working with automotive-grade hardware and the long-term constraints of in-vehicle software.

Additional information

  • Relocation support: No relocation provided.
  • Work visa/immigration sponsorship: No sponsorship provided.

Base Salary Range: We determine the base salary range for this role based on your primary work location:
