Job description

This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

Senior Partner Solutions Engineer, Cellular Connectivity

As a Senior Partner Solutions Engineer, Cellular Connectivity within Hardware Partner Engineering, you will own the technical relationship with Adyen’s cellular connectivity partners throughout the service lifecycle.
Cellular connectivity is a critical dependency for payment terminals operating globally. The environment is technically complex and highly distributed: an issue may involve the terminal, SIM/eSIM, connectivity provider, roaming partner, local mobile operator, network configuration or Adyen systems.
You will act as Adyen’s primary technical counterpart to these partners, combining technical understanding with partner management. You will drive technical priorities, service improvements, complex investigations, incidents, RCA and corrective actions, while helping ensure that connectivity solutions remain reliable and suitable as Adyen’s terminal fleet and provider landscape evolve.
You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Support, Supply Chain, Procurement and Commercial Partnership.
You are not expected to gatekeep direct engineer-to-engineer collaboration. Your role is to create clarity around technical ownership, connect the right people, establish priorities and commitments, and ensure important actions are driven to closure.

What you'll do

  • Own the technical relationship with Adyen’s cellular connectivity partners, establishing clear priorities, commitments, governance and escalation paths.
  • Lead complex connectivity investigations and incidents across terminals, SIM/eSIM platforms, connectivity providers, roaming partners, mobile operators and Adyen systems.
  • Drive partners toward credible RCA, corrective actions and preventive measures, challenging incomplete technical explanations and tracking actions through closure.
  • Maintain visibility of technical issues, risks, dependencies and partner commitments, while ensuring Adyen-side actions do not become blockers.
  • Assess significant provider, network, SIM/eSIM and platform changes, and provide technical input into new provider evaluation, onboarding and connectivity solutions.
  • Work with Product, Engineering, Support, Supply Chain, Procurement and Commercial Partnership to align technical expectations, priorities, trade-offs and decisions.
  • Identify recurring reliability and service-performance patterns and translate them into structural improvements in partner processes, technical solutions and ways of working.

Who you are

  • Experience in partner engineering, telecom engineering, technical account management, solutions engineering, or a similar partner-facing technical role.
  • Proven experience owning complex external technical relationships and driving partners toward clear commitments and resolution.
  • Strong understanding of cellular connectivity, including LTE/4G/5G, SIM/eSIM, roaming, APNs, mobile networks, IoT connectivity, or managed connectivity platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed connectivity environments involving multiple technical domains and external parties.
  • Experience with incident and problem management, RCA, corrective actions, and challenging incomplete technical explanations.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills across technical, product, operational, and commercial teams.
  • Structured, pragmatic, and comfortable creating clarity and scalable ways of working in ambiguous environments.
  • Comfortable working independently across time zones and traveling to partner locations when needed.

What success looks like
You create predictable and technically credible relationships with Adyen’s cellular connectivity partners.
Partners understand Adyen’s priorities and technical expectations; commitments have clear ownership; significant incidents are investigated effectively; RCA and corrective actions are credible and completed; service changes are technically assessed; and recurring issues result in measurable improvements rather than repeated escalations.
As the connectivity landscape grows, the operating model scales with it without making Hardware Partnership Engineering a gatekeeper or the owner of work that belongs with the connectivity provider or another Adyen team.
