Job description

About Bolt
Bolt is shaping a future where cities are built for people, not cars. What started as an ambitious project of a 19-year-old in 2013 has grown into a global mobility platform used by more than 200 million customers and 4.5 million driver and courier partners across 50 countries.

From ride-hailing and food delivery to scooters, e-bikes, and car-sharing, Bolt helps people move through cities every day. Small, autonomous teams drive this work, combining the speed and ownership of a startup with the scale of a global technology company backed by more than €1bn in funding.

And we’re just getting started.

Why join Bolt?

  • Build the future of mobility and help transform how people live and move in cities.
  • Tackle challenges at scale that span technology, operations, regulation, and growth.
  • Take real ownership from day one. Small, lean teams mean your decisions carry real weight, and you set the agenda rather than inherit it.
  • Join one of Europe’s leading technology companies, backed by world-class investors including Sequoia.

About The Role
France is one of Bolt’s largest markets in Europe: a multi-hundred-million-euro business across 60+ cities, with a team of more than 50+ people, operating in the most closely regulated ride-hailing environment on the continent. As Senior General Manager you own the full P&L, drive sustainable profitability, and lead Bolt’s next chapter of growth here. You are one of the most senior Bolt decision-maker in the country, reporting to the Regional Director, and our face with regulators, media, driver communities, and commercial partners.

Ride-hailing in France sits at the centre of live questions about independent work, driver representation, and urban transport policy. Bolt’s standing with national regulators, city authorities, and driver organisations shapes what we can build, so the commercial and regulatory sides of this role are inseparable. You will need the credibility to hold a room with a prefecture, a journalist, or a driver association on the same day.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the full France P&L - with direct accountability for revenue, margin, and cost efficiency across the business.
  • Lead country strategy and annual planning - define where Bolt competes and how it wins across French cities, in one of Europe’s most contested and closely watched mobility markets.
  • Own the marketplace: driver supply acquisition, activation and retention, rider demand and conversion, reliability and ETAs.
  • Lead driver engagement through competitive earnings, quality support, loyalty programmes, and strategic partner relationships, including fleet and rental partnerships.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing senior team across supply, demand, operations, and commercial functions.
  • Act as Bolt’s most senior representative in France - with national regulators, ministries, city authorities, driver organisations and social partners, media, and industry bodies - and keep commercial decisions aligned with our regulatory position as the rules evolve. You own the narrative; our Public Policy and Legal teams own the licensing, legal work and the relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with HQ teams across Legal, Policy, Product, FP&A, and Marketing to execute key initiatives in-market.

About You

  • Proven general management or senior operations experience, ideally in high-growth or marketplace environments.
  • Strong P&L ownership and commercial acumen - you understand unit economics and act accordingly.
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Credible and composed in public-facing and politically sensitive conversations - with regulators, authorities, media, or driver communities - and you understand how a commercial decision will land politically. Direct experience of a regulated sector or public affairs exposure is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent stakeholder and external communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset - you treat the business as your own.
  • Fluent French and English required; deep understanding of the French market is essential.

Why you’ll love it here

  • Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
  • Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.
  • Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.
  • Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
  • Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in-office days.

At Bolt, using AI daily is a baseline expectation for everyone. If there’s a faster, smarter way to do your work, we expect you to find it. You’re still responsible for the output, so the standard stays high when using AI tools.

Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying!

Everyone is welcome
