Summary
Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. If you bring passion and dedication to your job, there's no telling what you could accomplish.

Apple is looking for a Payment Acceptance Manager to help improve existing payment services for Apple's digital merchants in Europe.

Description
In this role, you will sit at the centre of Apple’s digital merchant ecosystem, focusing on driving payment conversion, reducing friction, and scaling partner relationships.

You will work closely with cross-functional internal teams, card networks, and issuing banks to identify systemic performance trends and deliver long-term optimisations. The role demands strong analytical capability, persistence, and collaborative relationship-building to align technical, commercial, and operational stakeholders across multiple European markets.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and develop strong working relationships with payment providers and issuing banks’ payment and risk experts.
  • Monitor overall payment performance metrics and identify opportunities for optimization through internal collaboration and direct partner engagement.
  • Support the development and execution of a European playbook for performance improvements, identifying key focus areas and priority markets.
  • Support Apple product teams with go-to-market strategies, ensuring seamless and successful product launches.
  • Manage regional initiatives from initiation through completion, providing clear, consistent operational updates to business leaders.
  • Identify and develop mid- to long-term internal and external opportunities to improve the customer checkout and payment experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the EU and UK payment landscape, regulatory frameworks, and their practical impact on digital merchants.
  • Strong understanding of core payment principles, including card authorisation mechanics, 3-D Secure (3DS), card scheme frameworks, authorisation decline categorisation, and payment optimisation strategies.
  • Proven experience working directly with key payment partners, including issuing banks, and card networks.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving 3DS and card payment performance optimisation using analytical, problem-solving, and partner engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects end to end and deliver concise, structured updates to cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a payment acceptance team at an enterprise online merchant or Payment Service Provider (PSP).
  • Experience conducting payment funnel conversion analysis to identify trends and execute conversion uplift initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of transaction risk management and fraud prevention principles.
  • Fluency in one or more European languages in addition to English.
  • Degree education in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
