What to Expect
The Inventory Planner owns inventory health across a group of distribution centres in the EMEA Service Parts network. As the main point of contact for local parts availability, the Inventory Planner supports the Parts, Service and Operations organisations. The goal is simple: the right parts, in the right quantities, at the right location.
Day to day, the Inventory Planner reviews shortages, maintains planning parameters and manages stock transfers between locations. Close collaboration with Material Planning, Demand Planning, Service New Product Introduction (SNPI) and Reliability Engineering is central to resolving parts issues quickly.
Beyond daily operations, the Inventory Planner flags risks early and escalates issues that need regional support. The position also contributes to the monthly regional business review and to process improvement and analytics projects across the team.
This position offers broad exposure across the Service Parts supply chain. Success requires strong attention to detail, a structured approach to problem solving and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Own inventory health at the assigned Distribution Centres (DCs) against service level and cost targets.
- Review parts shortages regularly and drive actions to restore availability.
- Maintain planning parameters, including order policies, safety stock and Fixed Order Quantities (FOQs).
- Manage stock transfers and manual allocations between locations.
- Resolve local parts escalations from service centres and body shops.
- Identify ageing and excess stock and take action to reduce it.
- Measure, control and improve end-to-end inventory performance.
- Provide root cause analysis on performance hits and misses.
- Partner with Material Planning, Demand Planning, SNPI and Reliability Engineering to resolve parts issues.
- Prepare inputs for the monthly regional business review.
- Communicate insights clearly to a wide audience, including senior leadership.
- Contribute to process improvement and analytics projects.
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance or Logistics.
- Previous experience in supply chain, inventory planning or a related analytical role.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem solving.
- Continuous improvement and growth mindset.
- Strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to propose data-driven solutions.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Experience with SQL is an advantage.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and data visualisation tools such as Tableau is an advantage.
- Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) is an advantage.
