HR Operations / HR SSC

About the role

We are recruiting an HR Operations (HR SSC) specialist to join our HR shared service team based in Milton Keynes. This role delivers end-to-end transactional HR support for all employees, acting as the first point of contact for routine HR enquiries and ensuring smooth, compliant people operations across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Own employee lifecycle administration: new starter onboarding, contract management, probation, transfer, promotion, and offboarding / leaver processes
• Respond to employee & manager HR queries via helpdesk, shared inbox or ticketing system (absence, holiday, payroll, pension, employment documents)
• Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS system, ensure data integrity and GDPR compliance
• Prepare and validate payroll inputs, including overtime, leave, and allowance adjustments
• Process statutory leave requests (maternity, paternity, sick leave etc.) following UK employment legislation
• Issue HR documents including employment contract, confirmation of employment, salary letters and reference requests
• Support continuous improvement of HR SSC workflows, follow agreed SLA and service standards
• Escalate complex employee relations or policy queries to HRBP / COE team appropriately

Requirements & Person Specification

• Previous working experience in HR Shared Services / HR Operations / HR Administration in UK market
• Solid understanding of UK employment law, pension, holiday entitlement and GDPR
• Hands-on experience with HRIS systems
• Strong attention to detail, accurate data entry and good time management
• Clear verbal & written English communication skills, customer-service mindset
• Ability to handle high volume routine work while meeting SLAs
