At Wise, we are looking for a Senior Quality Lead for FinCrime to lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of Quality Team Leads and Specialists. In this pivotal role, you will bridge operational quality and senior leadership - translating high-level regulatory strategy into actionable, impact-driven processes.

You will own the Quality strategy across the FinCrime domain, ensuring our operations remain fully compliant with global AML/CFT regulations while maintaining the fast, effortless service our customers expect.

What You’ll Do

  • Leadership & People Development
  • Drive Team Excellence: Lead, mentor, and empower a team of Quality Leads and Specialists, modeling success behaviors and living Wise values.
  • Cultivate Talent: Conduct career check-ins, foster growth opportunities, and build clear paths for professional development.
  • Foster Culture: Promote a culture of continuous learning, psychological safety, delegation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Operational Management & Data Literacy
  • Execute Strategy: Turn overarching quality objectives into phased implementation plans that optimize processes without disrupting operations.
  • Hit Targets: Drive team performance to meet and exceed KPIs/SLAs, contributing directly to the quarterly Quality KPI tree.
  • Capacity Planning: Forecast demand and allocate resources effectively within the FinCrime quality squad.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Partner with analytics teams to build performance dashboards, analyze complex risk/quality trends, and guide strategic decision-making.
  • FinCrime Expertise & Quality Assurance
  • Domain Ownership: Act as the subject matter expert on FinCrime operations (AML, Fraud, Sanctions, Reporting) and Quality Assurance frameworks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead root-cause analyses on quality gaps and feed insights back into processes to reduce organizational risk.
  • Risk-Based QA: Embed a rigorous, risk-based approach across all FinCrime tools, processes, and workflows.
  • Governance & Audit: Serve as the point of contact during internal audits, manage escalations, and provide regular updates to senior executive leadership.
  • Stakeholder & Project Management
  • End-to-End Delivery: Drive complex quality initiatives from inception to delivery—managing blockers, timelines, and documentation.
  • Strategic Alignment: Align FinCrime quality goals with broader company-wide OKRs.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with FinCrime Product Managers and Operational Heads to balance regulatory compliance with exceptional customer outcomes.

Qualifications Must-Have Qualifications

  • FinCrime & Quality Operations Leadership: 3+ years of experience managing small-to-medium-sized operational teams specifically in Financial Crime (FinCrime), KYC, or Quality Assurance functions.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Advanced, up-to-date working knowledge of global AML/CFT regulatory frameworks, compliance standards, and emerging financial crime trends.
  • Communication & Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Exceptional written and verbal English skills, with a demonstrated ability to draft comprehensive reports and collaborate across global teams, cultures, and time zones.
  • Problem Solving & Solution Design: Strong analytical mindset with a track record of diagnosing recurring quality gaps and implementing actionable, scalable solutions.
  • Operational Agility: Thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments; adept at prioritizing effectively and adapting quickly to shifting regulatory and operational needs.
  • Ownership & Professionalism: Proactive, punctual, and self-directed, with a high degree of accountability and personal responsibility.
  • Right to Work in Estonia - We don't offer visa or relocation support for this role.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Certifications: Industry-recognized credentials such as CAMS, ICA, or equivalent specialized certifications focusing on AML, Fraud, EDD, Sanctions, or Risk Management.
  • Data & BI Proficiency: Hands-on experience working with Business Intelligence and analytics tools (e.g., Looker, Superset, Redash, MicroStrategy/Microtab).
