Job description

Meta is looking for an experienced commercial leader to own the third-party retail sales and partner enablement business for Meta hardware across EMEA. Reporting to the VP, Reality Labs Global Retail, this Senior Director carries the region's revenue and sell-through targets for the wearables and mixed reality portfolio and leads a multi-country team spanning thousands of retail doors and still expanding. Third-party retail is where the portfolio gets reach, scale, and the hands-on discovery that converts interest into purchase, working through leading national retailers and distributors. The right candidate has led a consumer electronics or comparable physical-product business in EMEA at scale, is fluent in retail mechanics, and has led distributed teams including other people managers. The candidate will possess experience using data and analytics to inform commercial decisions, including forecasting, pipeline analysis, and performance reporting and have the ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management. The candidate will thrive in a team-oriented environment, working cross-functionally with the Category, Product Management, Marketing, Operations and Finance teams to develop ways we can improve the purchase experience for customers, while delivering the sales plan. This leader will bring a track record of consistent achievement of sales targets, proven people leadership, including building and developing high-performing, distributed teams, and effective customer advocacy in breadth environments. This leader will clearly demonstrate the ability to build high-performing, collaborative teams and drive customer success at scale.

Director, RL Retail EMEA Sales Responsibilities:

  • Own the EMEA third-party retail sales and partner enablement business, driving to our annual goals across unit sales, revenue, share of business, attach rate, sell-in, and sell-through
  • Set annual regional strategy and sales priorities, including account tiering and the resourcing that follows, alongside one- to five-year planning
  • Develop and manage retail sales channels: create and execute partner-specific business plans, negotiate pricing and promotions, monitor competitor activity, and support marketing initiatives that deliver sales growth
  • Serve as Meta's senior commercial counterpart to executive teams and C-suites at EMEA's largest retailers, distributors, and buying groups
  • Identify and develop business opportunities within the account base, and manage commercial strategies in partnership with account leads
  • Drive door expansion and channel diversification into new markets, selecting the right route to market for each (direct, distributor, or hybrid)
  • Secure and deploy partner-funded co-marketing and in-kind investment as a core growth lever, and build retail media into a scaled, partner-funded growth channel across the largest accounts
  • Own inventory allocation advocacy, channel inventory health, returns, excess inventory run-down, and trade investment
  • Own launch readiness and GTM execution, including leak discipline, product page activation, and in-store rollout
  • Lead a regional team across multiple markets, spanning strategic account managers, partner engagement managers, and distribution leads
  • Create operating consistency across countries, reconciling global processes with the speed local partners expect, and drive adoption of AI-enabled workflows
  • Drive a clear and predictable business rhythm that engages the sales team, shares information up, down, and across the organization, and delivers results
  • Provide an objective viewpoint grounded in deep commercial and competitive understanding
  • Demonstrate agility and adaptability in a quickly changing technology and digital media landscape, and build resilience and competence in navigating ambiguity across the organization

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in sales, channel, or commercial leadership, with significant experience owning a multi-country EMEA business
  • 8+ years of people management, including managing managers across multiple countries
  • Demonstrated ownership of a revenue and sell-through target in a physical consumer products business, with accountability for forecast accuracy and channel inventory
  • Deep working knowledge of third-party retail and distribution: joint business planning, trade terms and funding, in-store execution, and distributor management
  • Direct accountability for retail partner enablement (promotional calendar, merchandising, co-op investment), including securing and deploying partner-funded co-marketing budgets
  • Track record negotiating and closing significant commercial agreements with major retailers or distributors at executive level
  • Experience operating across EMEA's market, language, and regulatory diversity, including distributor-led markets
  • Executive-level communication, with the ability to influence global functions from a regional seat

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional European language capability, as the role requires direct engagement with retail partners across multiple non-English-speaking EMEA markets
  • Experience building retail media into a meaningful, partner-funded growth channel
  • Comfort operating where the category is still being created and the operating model is still changing
  • Consumer electronics, wearables, mobile, or comparable hardware experience, ideally launching and scaling a new category through retail
  • Senior relationships with EMEA retail and distribution decision makers, and experience with key strategic accounts across EMEA
