Data Analyst Intern

Job Summary

Duties

• Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets using tools such as R and Python to identify trends and patterns.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, and Excel VBA to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Support database design, management, and querying efforts utilizing Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL scripting to ensure data accuracy and accessibility.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand business needs, translate requirements into technical solutions, and contribute to project management activities following SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) best practices.
• Perform business analysis by evaluating existing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and recommending data-driven solutions.
• Contribute to the documentation of database structures using Visio and assist in maintaining data integrity across various platforms.
• Participate in team meetings, contribute ideas for process improvements, and support ongoing data analysis initiatives.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Basic understanding of SQL for querying databases; familiarity with R or Python for data analysis is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of database design principles and experience working with Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server preferred.
• Familiarity with SDLC processes and project management methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets accurately.
• Experience with VBA scripting or Bash (Unix shell) scripting is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
