Job description

At Bloomberg, our products are fuelled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the whole picture for our clients, around the clock - from around the world. In Data, we’re responsible for delivering this data, news, and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately. The Content Acquisition department is responsible for managing, acquiring and integrating content and data from Exchanges, Brokers, Sell-side and other types of providers to drive the value of the Bloomberg Terminal and downstream products.

The Role We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Exchanges & Venues (EV) team as a Content Relationship Manager focused on Digital Assets. The digital asset market is evolving rapidly, creating new sources of data and changing the information our clients need to understand and participate in these markets. From trading and pricing data to reference, on-chain and other emerging datasets, Bloomberg needs to continually evolve its content offering alongside the market. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and acquiring digital asset content that supports Bloomberg's products and our clients' evolving workflows. You will work closely with Product Managers and other internal stakeholders to understand existing and emerging content requirements, identify the right data providers and build the external relationships needed to bring valuable new content to Bloomberg. You will develop strategic relationships with key data providers and market participants across the digital asset ecosystem and use your market knowledge and network to stay ahead of changes in market structure, client demand and the data landscape. You are an experienced market professional with a strong understanding of digital assets and the data that supports these markets. You combine relationship management, commercial judgement and industry expertise with the ability to translate market developments and client needs into actionable content opportunities for Bloomberg. You are a natural problem solver and thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment. We'll trust you to:

  • Own a portfolio of strategic digital asset content providers, building and managing relationships across the appropriate levels of each organization;
  • Own content opportunities end-to-end, from identifying the need and evaluating potential sources through acquisition, implementation and ongoing management of the provider relationship;
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, clients, Sales and other stakeholders to understand client and product priorities, while using market expertise and provider intelligence to identify opportunities and help shape Bloomberg's content strategy;
  • Identify, evaluate and acquire new sources of digital asset data, balancing client demand, product impact, data quality, commercial terms and operational requirements;
  • Stay ahead of developments in digital asset markets and anticipate how changes in market structure, products, regulation and client behaviour will create new data requirements;
  • Develop a deep understanding of the digital asset data landscape and use your industry knowledge, external network and business intelligence to proactively identify and prioritise new content opportunities;
  • Exert influence to help shape contractual and commercial negotiations with data providers;
  • Build trusted and collaborative relationships across Bloomberg – including Product, Enterprise, Sales, Engineering, Legal and other Data teams – to deliver new content effectively;
  • Act as a subject matter expert on digital asset content, providing insight into market developments and their implications for Bloomberg's data strategy.

You'll need to have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience;
  • 5+ years of relevant experience* within digital assets, financial markets, market data or financial technology;
  • A genuine passion for digital assets, with the curiosity and drive to stay ahead of a rapidly evolving market, emerging trends and new data requirements;
  • Experience building and managing relationships with senior business executives and external partners;
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence commercial outcomes;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate market and client needs into actionable opportunities;
  • Proven experience managing initiatives with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities;
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills;
  • A strong understanding of how institutional clients consume financial data and the commercial landscape in which Bloomberg operates.
  • Please note we use years of experience as a guide, but we certainly will consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills vital for the role. We'd love to see:
  • Experience working for or with digital asset data providers, exchanges, trading platforms or other institutional digital asset businesses;
  • Experience acquiring or licensing financial market data, including familiarity with licensing and redistribution models;
  • Knowledge of digital asset datasets, including market, pricing, reference and on-chain data;
  • Understanding of emerging areas such as stablecoins, tokenisation and digital asset derivatives and the data requirements they create;
  • An established network across digital asset data providers and market participants.

Does this sound like you? Apply if you think we're a good match! We'll get in touch to let you know what the next steps are.

If indicated, please note that years of experience are a guide; we will consider applications from all candidates who can demonstrate the skills necessary for the role.
