Job description

Description
We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Category Manager to join our Global Procurement Operations (GPO) CAPEX Category team within the Equipment, Mobility & Infrastructure (EMI) organization. In this role, you will own end-to-end category management for the Racking (Storage) subcategory across Europe and Latin America, supporting Amazon's fulfillment, sortation, and logistics network.

You will develop and execute sourcing strategies, drive cost savings, manage supplier relationships, and partner cross-functionally to deliver best-in-class storage solutions at optimal total cost of ownership. You will report to the Global Storage Category Leader and work closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and regional stakeholders to ensure procurement strategies are aligned with business priorities and network expansion plans.

Key job responsibilities

Category Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute regional category strategies for Racking across Europe and Latin America, including market analysis, spend segmentation, should-cost modelling, sourcing roadmaps, and supply chain optimisation.

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management: Lead competitive sourcing events (Requests for Proposal/Quote/Information), negotiate commercial terms, and execute contracts that deliver best value. Build and manage strategic supplier relationships — from vendor scouting and qualification through regular business reviews, performance tracking, and continuous improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability.

Cost Optimisation & Market Intelligence: Identify and deliver year-over-year cost savings through negotiation, value engineering, specification optimisation, demand management, and consolidation opportunities. Monitor industry trends, technology shifts, raw material dynamics (particularly steel), and supply market conditions to proactively inform category strategy.

Risk Management & Compliance: Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks including single/sole source dependencies, geopolitical exposure, and capacity constraints. Maintain catalogue accuracy, drive catalogue coverage improvements, and ensure supplier compliance with contractual obligations and Amazon's Supplier Code of Conduct.

Stakeholder Engagement & Process Improvement: Partner with Engineering, Safety, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and Operations stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business requirements. Identify and implement process improvements across the procure-to-pay cycle; define and report on key metrics that measure effectiveness.

This role is open for candidates based in Luxembourg, Barcelona or London.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree

Experience in strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, contract management, and financial analysis

Experience being responsible for and leading large, complex negotiations

Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics

Experience managing supplier relationships and driving performance improvement

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in supply chain, construction, or industrial equipment procurement

Experience in driving end-to-end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership

Experience with should-cost modeling and total cost of ownership analysis

Experience leading process improvements and building scalable procurement processes

Knowledge of steel market dynamics and storage/racking industry landscape

Experience working across multiple regions (EU, LATAM, or global scope)

MBA or Master's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics, or related field

A day in the life

Earn the trust of key stakeholders across Europe and Latin America to drive alignment between procurement strategy and business needs.

Analyse regional spend data and market intelligence to identify savings opportunities and inform sourcing decisions.

Lead supplier negotiations and business reviews, ensuring delivery against cost, quality, and timeline commitments.

Collaborate with Engineering teams on technical assessments, specification optimisation, and new racking solutions.

Create and maintain category strategies in conjunction with internal customers to ensure a comprehensive, unified approach across regions.

Define and report on key metrics that measure category performance and savings delivery.
