Job Description
Just imagine shaping the platform where LEGO® elements begin their journey from moulding machine to finished product. Then make it real.
About The Role
As our Automation Manager, Operational Technology - Moulding, you'll own production software and automation equipment on a global automation platform used across moulding operations. You'll be responsible for software, robotics, network infrastructure, and connected equipment that support the platform throughout its lifecycle. Working closely with colleagues across Operational Technology, R&D, maintenance, and production, you'll help improve, standardize, and future-proof solutions that support high-quality manufacturing.
In this role, you will act as a bridge towards Manufacturing Design & Implementation (MD&I) and Operational Technology, ensuring aligning goals and strategy in the moulding technology area. Understanding cross-departmental coordination, planning and strategy is a vital skill, and will require you to communicate clearly, understand complex company policies and put yourself in the middle of the information-flow.
Required Qualifications
- Delivered PLC design, programming, installation, and troubleshooting in industrial automation environments
- Managed complex automation platforms involving PLCs and robotic applications
- Applied industrial network technologies including Ethernet/IP and OPC UA
- Implemented functional safety solutions using safety controllers and electrical systems
- Produced and interpreted technical specifications, equipment requirements, and electrical drawings
Preferred Qualifications
- Programmed and maintained 6-axis or cartesian robotic systems in production settings
- Worked with KUKA robotic systems, preferably KR C5
- Used production data and network solutions to support automation improvements
- Demonstrated fluent technical English in a global engineering environment
What You'll Build
- Global platform standards across moulding operations
- Improvements that increase productivity, reliability, and usability
- Solutions that support new products and evolving production needs
- Integration of new automation technologies into operations
- Stable, secure, and scalable platform capabilities throughout the lifecycle
If you've worked with automation programming, robotics, and industrial networks, you'll feel at home here. What matters most is your willingness to learn, solve problems, and continuously improve how things work.
Life on the team
You'll join Operational Technology, a team of 12 colleagues based in Denmark, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Together, we develop and support the automation platforms behind LEGO® manufacturing. We connect every week to share priorities and support one another, while enjoying a flexible hybrid rhythm. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys collaboration, communicates openly, and brings curiosity to both opportunities and challenges.
Your software will be deployed around the world, so expect 30-40 days of travel through the course of the year.
What Success Looks Like
Success means becoming a trusted platform owner who helps create consistent, reliable solutions across global moulding operations. You'll work closely with Manufacturing Design & Implementation, Operational Technology colleagues, mould maintenance teams, and R&D partners. Over the coming months, the team will take on new responsibilities and play an even bigger role in shaping the future of moulding technology across the LEGO Group.
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. However, please note we do amend or withdraw our jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to any advertised closing date. So, if you're interested in this role we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
