Job Description

Overview

Microsoft is on a mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Our culture is centered on embracing a growth mindset, a theme of inspiring excellence, and encouraging teams and leaders to bring their best each day. In doing so, we create life-changing innovations that impact billions of lives around the world. You can help us achieve our mission.

Microsoft Treasury supports the digital transformation journey of Microsoft’s customers, partners and vendors by providing competitive credit and payment solutions to support revenue growth while managing credit risk.
We are a compliance-first organization with customer obsession and deal economics focus. We support over $150B in trade and receivables and $11B in payment solutions per year in global markets. The team is also charged with managing over $130B of investment portfolio, currency risk, bank account infrastructure and business risk insurance.

As Treasury Manager, you will lead the day-to-day management and oversight of MIPSL’s treasury activities, including liquidity and cash management, banking and payment service provider relationships, foreign exchange, bank account structures and treasury risk management. You will also act as a key finance partner to the Head of Finance & Executive Director, providing analysis, planning and broader financial management support while working closely with the Financial Controller and Head of Safeguarding.

Responsibilities

Liquidity and Cash Management

  • Own daily cash positioning and liquidity monitoring across MIPSL bank accounts, payment flows and relevant currencies.
  • Maintain short- and medium-term cash forecasts and support funding decisions, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational, settlement and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and control funding movements, settlements and intercompany cash transfers in line with approved authorities.

Banking, PSP and Account Management

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with banks, payment service providers and internal Treasury partners.
  • Oversee bank account structures, mandates, access, signatories and related governance, ensuring arrangements remain appropriate for MIPSL’s operating model.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of banking and payment infrastructure required for go-live and steady-state operations.

Foreign Exchange and Treasury Risk

  • Monitor foreign exchange exposures arising from payment, settlement and operating activities and coordinate appropriate risk-management actions.
  • Identify, assess and report liquidity, counterparty, settlement, operational and concentration risks within the Treasury remit.

Controls, Reconciliations and Data Integrity

  • Maintain effective treasury controls, procedures and evidence, including appropriate review and segregation of duties over cash movements and account administration.
  • Review treasury-related reconciliations, investigate exceptions and ensure timely escalation and resolution of breaks.
  • Promote reliable treasury data, reporting and audit trails, using automation and analytics where appropriate.

Governance, Reporting and Regulatory Support

  • Prepare regular treasury reporting, management information, forecasts and key risk indicators for the Head of Finance, executive management, the Board and relevant committees.
  • Support regulatory submissions, audits and Central Bank of Ireland engagement relating to liquidity, capital, treasury operations and financial resilience.
  • Maintain treasury policies, procedures, process documentation and supporting governance records.

Finance Partnership and Business Support

  • Act as a key finance partner to the Head of Finance & Executive Director, supporting financial analysis, planning, decision-making and delivery across the wider MIPSL Finance agenda.
  • Work closely with the Financial Controller on accounting, reporting and control dependencies, and with the Head of Safeguarding on funding, banking and customer-fund interfaces, while preserving clear role accountability.
  • Support treasury readiness, issue resolution and continuous improvement across MIPSL and its corporate and third-party service providers.

Operational Resilience and Third-Party Oversight

  • Oversee treasury dependencies on intra-group and third-party providers, monitor service performance and support effective issue escalation.
  • Contribute to operational resilience, contingency funding, incident management and wind-down planning activities relevant to Treasury.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business AND relevant experience in treasury, finance, banking or payments, OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in cash and liquidity management, banking operations, cash forecasting, foreign exchange or treasury risk management.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, banks, service providers, auditors and cross-functional partners, and to explain complex treasury matters clearly to non-specialist audiences.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business AND relevant experience, OR Master's Degree in Business Administration or Finance AND relevant experience
  • Professional treasury, accounting or risk qualification, such as ACT, CTP, CFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or FRM.
  • Experience in payments, e-money, financial services, technology, cloud services or online platforms.
  • Experience operating in a regulated entity or supporting regulatory reporting, liquidity, capital, safeguarding or operational-resilience requirements.
  • Experience with treasury management systems, analytics, automation, modelling or large-scale cash and reconciliation environments.
