Technical Program Manager III

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in technical program management, program management, or a related domain.
• 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

Preferred qualifications:

• Proven ability to independently define projects, setup processes and execute within timelines, with multiple stakeholders.
• Being able to work on tasks that are not clearly defined but can help to drive clarity within those initiatives.
• Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

• Scope, organize and track execution in ambiguous cross-functional and cross-organizational programs to ensure a successful and timely delivery.
• Identify process improvements for scale and efficiency; measuring their impact and using said metrics to create visibility and alignment in teams.
• Track progress, unblocking dependencies, identifying, evaluating, mitigating risks and put into motion the solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams in execution, objective key results (OKR) planning, and drive accountability to OKR execution.
• Provide clear communication to the teams and executive stakeholders regarding project status, risks/issues, mitigation plans and escalations.
