Job Description
Who you are
- This position requires current enrollment in a school or education program in which the individual is working towards a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related technical field
- Obtain Bachelor's in Computer Science or related technical field by June 2028
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms
- Familiarity using AI as a learning, productivity, and engineering tool, and as an iterative coding partner, to accelerate engineering work while exercising strong judgment around accuracy, security, and when to ask for help
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C++, and familiarity with relevant frameworks, tools, or technologies such as React or similar. Technical requirements vary by team
- Non-academic coding experience (i.e. hackathons, code challenges, personal projects, GitHub, Open Source, volunteer coding experience, conference participation, etc.)
- A curious nature with a desire to tackle and solve complex problem
What the job involves
- We’re looking for inquisitive, collaborative interns to join our engineering teams
- Working closely with mentors and product, design, data, and engineers, you’ll learn how large‑scale systems operate and play a meaningful role in building new technologies, features, and tools
- Expect real projects, supportive teammates, and plenty of opportunities to explore ideas that make a difference for our teams and Pinners
- Complete assigned technical projects with attention to quality, incorporating feedback from your mentor, manager and peers
- Execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end that contribute to Pinterest products and infrastructure
- Deliver code that is well-documented, tested, and operable
- Share ideas, questions and perspectives clearly and respectfully while learning from feedback
- Build technical and professional skills through learning and development opportunities
- Collaborate with your team and contribute to production-oriented projects that support Pinterest’s goals
- Leverage opportunities to connect with leaders and colleagues across Pinterest and participate in intern program events
- Foundational exposure to AI concepts or AI-assisted software development through coursework, projects, internships or practical experience
- Interest in learning how to use AI-powered technologies responsibly to improve product development, while validating outputs through testing, review and engineering judgment
- The internship dates are May 10, 2027 - August 27, 2027
