As a Software Engineer Student Worker at Microsoft Development Center Serbia (MDCS), you will work with experienced engineers to solve complex technical challenges and build innovative software solutions used by customers around the world. You will collaborate with teammates across disciplines, contribute to real product development, and gain hands-on experience with modern engineering practices and technologies.

Responsibilities

Apply engineering principles to solve complex technical problems through sound and creative engineering.

Partner with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to software solutions.

Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software features and services.

Quickly learn new technologies, tools, and engineering methods and apply them in day-to-day work.

Seek feedback and apply engineering best practices to improve code quality and technical solutions.

Demonstrate strong time management skills while contributing to projects in a collaborative team environment.

Continuously build technical knowledge and contribute to improvements in system reliability, performance, efficiency, and scalability.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
-
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

Must maintain active student status throughout the entire duration of the Student Worker program.
-
Must be returning to studies following completion of the program.

Availability to work 30 hours per week (6 hours per day).

Programming experience in at least one object-oriented programming language.
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
-
Legal authorization to work in Serbia.
Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.

Experience through academic, personal, or project work in software development.

Passion for technology and continuous learning.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
