Software Engineer II, Sustainability, Full Stack

In most instances, this position requires in-person interviews as part of the hiring process. Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• Experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
• Experience in experiment Design, Data Analysis, Artificial Intelligence.
• Experience with data structures and algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience in backend coding languages such as GOLang, Rust, or Java.
• Experience in ML model coding languages (e.g., Python).

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional team dedicated to the pursuit of sustainability in Real World Journeys (RWJ).
• Collaborate with the broader RWJ team, as well as Google Research, to land well-established contrails research as a real-world product that helps airlines avoid contrails at global scale.
• Engage with multiple levels of the stack, including large data pipelines, AI model training and ML Ops, frontend UI development, and API development.
• Manage an end-to-end project within a larger organization, applying full-stack experience.
