Microsoft Security aspires to make the world a safer place for all. We want to reshape security and empower every user, customer, and developer with a security cloud that protects them with end to end, simplified solutions. The Microsoft Security organization accelerates Microsoft’s mission and bold ambitions to ensure that our company and industry is securing digital technology platforms, devices, and clouds in our customers’ heterogeneous environments, as well as ensuring the security of our own internal estate. In doing so, we create life-changing innovations that impact billions of lives around the world.

We are hiring for several Software Engineer II and Senior Software Engineers to be part of this organisation in Microsoft Czechia

Team Description

The Entra Application Governance team builds the core capabilities that help enterprises discover, manage, govern, and secure application identities at scale. As organizations increasingly adopt AI-powered applications, agents, and non-human identities, our mission is expanding to help customers securely govern and manage the next generation of software.

We are building the security and governance foundations for applications, AI agents, and machine identities, helping enterprises apply least-privilege access, visibility, and policy controls across increasingly complex cloud environments. This includes emerging governance challenges around autonomous software, non-human identities, and AI-driven access patterns.

You will own and deliver critical platform capabilities that directly impact customer security, compliance, and operational efficiency. You will work at the intersection of cloud-scale engineering, identity, security, and AI, helping define how enterprises securely adopt the next generation of intelligent software. This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, sound judgment in security-sensitive domains, and the ability to drive work independently across complex systems.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

  • Translate security, compliance, and enterprise governance requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.

  • Drive engineering quality through design reviews, code reviews, and operational best practices.

  • Identify and mitigate security risks, scalability bottlenecks, and reliability gaps in governance-critical systems.

  • Actively contribute to operational excellence: health metrics, alerting, incident response, root-cause analysis, and long-term fixes.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, partner teams, and adjacent Entra services to deliver cohesive customer experiences.

  • Mentor and support other engineers; raise the overall engineering bar through knowledge sharing and technical leadership.

  • Experience designing and operating cloud-based services and distributed systems.

  • Demonstrated understanding of system design, performance, reliability, and security.

  • Ability to independently own complex problem areas and deliver results with minimal oversight.

  • Good collaboration and communication skills.
