Software Development Engineer

Who you are

• We are seeking a Software Development Engineer with a great passion for data, and an insatiable desire to be curious and invent
• A commitment to team work and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements
• Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance products requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems

• Experience in professional, non-internship software development
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

What the job involves

• The Identity and Access Management group is responsible for the protection of customer and corporate data. We are connected to all parts of Amazon's business and it’s massive, worldwide service-oriented architecture
• We are starting work on a new mission critical system that will preserve and improve the trusted experience that Amazon provides to its customers
• This is a greenfield initiative with plenty of opportunity for innovation in the security space through new data exploration and machine learning techniques
• This position will require working cross-functionally across multiple teams and technologies
