Who you are

• Are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields
• Experience with Networking: C, Firmware, Hardware, Memory Management, Computer Architecture, Computer Architecture, or Operating Systems
• Experience with Linux: Firmware, Shell Scripting, Scripting Efficiency, or Linux, and C++
• Experience with C, C++, Firmware, Device Driver, Linux, ARM, Bare-Metal, or Kernel
• Experience with Linux, System Integration, Networking, Operating Systems Kernels, Multi-threading, or Microprocessors and/or microcontrollers
• Expected graduation between August 2026 - November 2026, OR graduated within the last 24 months
• Completed Bachelor's and/or Masters degree in specified fields
• Experience from previous technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience
• Experience with virtualization (Hypervisors, VMware, Xen)
• Knowledge of the tools of the trade, including a variety of modern programming languages (Rust, Java, C/C++), and a solid understanding of the Linux operating system
• Experience in performant kernel development (CUTLASS, FlashInfer), or experience writing low level drivers
• Experience with designing and building applications using container and serverless technologies
• Familiarity with systems programming in a large-scale distributed environment

• Design, develop, and optimisevirtual machine monitors (VMMs) for serverless and container workloads
• Contribute to Firecracker and related open-source hypervisor technologies running at global scale
• Build and maintain virtualisation infrastructure powering AWS Lambda, Aurora, and other AWS services
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and operate innovative products and services that delight our customers, while participating in technical discussions to drive solutions forward
• Design and develop scalable solutions using cloud-native architectures and microservices in a large distributed computing environment
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
• Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective
• Leverage and contribute to the development of GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity while staying current with emerging technologies
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns
• Work in an agile environment practicing CI/CD principles while participating in operational responsibilities including on-call duties
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues
