About The Role We are looking for a commercially-minded, analytically sharp Senior Operations Specialist to own and grow the health of our ride-hailing marketplace in Romania. This is a senior, high-ownership role on our Rides Marketplace & Planning team: you won't just diagnose what's broken and propose fixes — you'll own the strategic direction of supply and demand across all Romanian cities, make the financial and commercial calls that move the business, and lead the complex, cross-functional projects that turn those calls into results.

You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, working closely with the Operations Manager and the wider leadership team, including the General Manager, and partnering with cross-functional teams (Marketing, PR, Public Policy, CS) as well as analysts and marketplace managers from HQ and other countries. Much of the time the right answer won't be obvious and the information won't be complete — you'll be expected to build a view, quantify the trade-offs, make the call, and own the outcome. When priorities compete, and pressure is high, you're the person who brings structure and drives execution forward. If you think like a business owner, you'll fit right in.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

• Own the Romanian marketplace end-to-end and set its strategic direction — monitor supply and demand across all cities, anticipate imbalances before they materialise, and act on them through pricing, investment, and cross-functional initiatives. Make these calls independently, backed by a clear business case and quantified impact on conversion, GMV, and margin.
• Own planning and forecasting for Romania — lead target-setting, build scenario models, track OKR progress, and develop the strategies needed to hit business objectives.
• Be closely involved in complex cross-functional and cross-market projects — helping shape scope, timelines, and priorities, contributing to trade-off decisions, and keeping momentum going when things get tricky.
• Contribute to competitive intelligence and market-share work, partnering weekly with HQ analysts to review market health — benchmarking competitors, surfacing useful insights and second-order effects, and helping maintain the dashboards and reports on key marketplace metrics (rides volume, supply availability, conversion rate, GMV, unit economics) that turn data into clear recommendations for stakeholders.
• Use AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to build automations and streamline how the team works — spotting repetitive or manual workflows and turning them into faster, AI-powered processes, as local initiatives or scaled into regional projects.
• Step into broader ownership when needed, bringing structure and calm to ambiguous, high-pressure, or crises (e.g. sharp market-share moves, supply shocks, regulatory changes).

About You

• You have 3–4+ years of experience in an analytical, commercial, or project-leadership role — consulting, operations, strategy, analytics, a startup, or your own venture. What matters most is that you've owned outcomes, made your own calls, and delivered under uncertainty.
• You have strong financial acumen — you're comfortable working with financial data and confident with concepts such as unit economics, P&L, margins, and business cases. You use this to drive pricing, investment, and planning decisions, not just to report on them.
• You have advanced analytical and modelling skills — you build complex models and dashboards, identify non-obvious performance drivers and second-order effects, and translate data into clear, quantified recommendations. You're skilled with Excel or Google Sheets; experience with BI tools like Looker or Tableau is a plus.
• You are comfortable using and experimenting with AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to build automations and work smarter. Prior experience building AI automations isn't required — what matters is the curiosity and confidence to explore, discover, and adopt new automation tools on your own.
• You take real ownership and stay composed under uncertainty — you act proactively in high-impact situations and, rather than waiting for a playbook or perfect clarity, form a view and make the call when only part of the information is available, adjusting as you go.
• You are a strong communicator in both English and Romanian.
