Job Description
About Bolt Bolt is shaping a future where cities are built for people, not cars. What started as an ambitious project of a 19-year-old in 2013 has grown into a global mobility platform used by more than 200 million customers and 4.5 million driver and courier partners across 50 countries.
From ride-hailing and food delivery to scooters, e-bikes, and car-sharing, Bolt helps people move through cities every day. Small, autonomous teams drive this work, combining the speed and ownership of a startup with the scale of a global technology company backed by more than €1bn in funding.
And we're just getting started.
Why join Bolt?
- Build the future of mobility and help transform how people live and move in cities.
- Tackle challenges at scale that span technology, operations, regulation, and growth.
- Take real ownership early. Small, lean teams mean your decisions matter from day one, and you'll learn fast alongside some of the best people in the industry.
- Join one of Europe's leading technology companies, backed by world-class investors including Sequoia.
About The Role As a Senior IT Business Analyst embedded in Bolt's Finance Engineering team, you will be the key link between financial stakeholders, regulatory requirements, and engineering teams.
A key part of this role is strong Finance domain expertise: understanding financial legislation, tax regulation and accounting processes - for example, VAT, e-invoicing and fiscalization requirements - deeply enough to identify the requirements and edge cases that materially affect the solution. Alongside this, you will own the detailed functional and system analysis behind Finance automation, including how systems and integrations should behave - while our Engineering team handles the technical architecture and implementation design.
You will work closely with Accounting, Tax, Controlling, Reporting, and Procurement teams, as well as Product and Engineering. Your work will directly impact Bolt's financial compliance by helping automate critical processes and reduce regulatory risk across global markets.
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
- Own detailed business, functional and system analysis for Finance automation — gathering and analysing requirements through interviews, workshops and document analysis, and covering business processes, regulatory requirements, business rules, data flows, integrations, risks and edge cases. Maintain structured and traceable documentation in Confluence and Jira.
- Analyse regulatory and legislative documents, including e-invoicing, fiscalization and VAT requirements, and identify which obligations genuinely affect the required system behaviour, translating them into actionable, traceable requirements.
- Define detailed system and integration behaviour: business rules, data mappings, validations, functional error behaviour, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria and as-is/to-be process flows - working closely with Engineering on technical implementation.
- Act as the main functional point of contact between Finance, Product and Engineering. Drive requirements alignment, clarify functional scope, identify dependencies and risks, and coordinate requirement-related decisions throughout delivery.
- Support delivery end-to-end: clarify requirements mid-sprint, define functional test scenarios, own UAT preparation and coordination, validate delivered behaviour, and support defect triage.
- Prepare functional user documentation and training content, and provide subject-matter support during training and rollout.
About You
- You have strong hands-on experience in business analysis or requirements engineering, using structured elicitation techniques such as interviews, workshops and document analysis, and can independently produce high-quality functional and system documentation, including user stories/user cases, acceptance criteria, process maps (as-is/to-be, BPMN), data mappings, business rules and requirements traceability.
- You have a strong understanding of Finance processes - accounting, tax, audit or compliance - deep enough to independently analyse the business and regulatory context behind system requirements, escalating anything requiring an authoritative legal or tax position to Tax/Legal/Compliance.
- You can analyse complex business and regulatory information, identify edge cases and translate it into clear, build-ready system behaviour for Engineering.
- You are comfortable working with integrations, data flows and system behaviour, while keeping the business meaning and Finance impact in focus.
- Specific experience with VAT, e-invoicing, fiscalization or similar regulatory Finance topics is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with structured business analysis or requirements engineering practices, such as BABOK or IREB/CPRE, is a strong advantage.
