Senior Financial Analyst, Amazon EU Logistics Central Operations Finance

Description Amazon Logistics is transforming its last-mile delivery network at pace, opening new delivery stations, expanding faster delivery options for customers, and handling steadily growing volumes across Europe. As the network has scaled and centralised, Central Operations has become the team that runs the day-to-day execution decisions behind last-mile delivery across Europe, from how delivery stations manage their capacity and volume to how routes, fleet, and delivery-partner costs are managed on the road. Finance partners closely alongside it, turning operational performance into the insights that guide where the network invests next.

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who is excited to partner with operations and influence how a fast-growing network manages its productivity. You will own the financial partnership for a Central Operations area, connecting operational performance to the cost base across delivery stations in Europe, sizing the opportunities that matter, quantifying the trade-offs, and proactively guiding business owners toward the decisions that improve performance, so that in a network this size, where even small movements in productivity translate into meaningful results, the analysis you bring genuinely shapes how the business acts.

With the reporting automated and much of the recurring analysis now taking care of itself, the value you bring is in reading the numbers better than anyone else, spotting where cost is drifting before it reaches the plan, and partnering with the business to act on it. You will draw on the team's own AI and automation tools to spend your time exactly there, on the analysis and the partnership that move performance, on a team that keeps setting itself a higher standard and will look to you to help shape what comes next.

Key job responsibilities

• Own the financial partnership for a Central Operations area, connecting operational performance metrics to financial outcomes and identifying where cost is running ahead of plan.
• Bring the analysis to business owners, sizing the opportunity, quantifying the trade-off, and influencing decisions, making thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be difficult to procure.
• Lead root cause analysis on variances spanning multiple sites or countries, separating controllable drivers from structural ones and designing scalable measurement that improves network efficiency.
• Drive cost-out and efficiency opportunities within your area, contributing to the cross-functional programs that reduce cost and defects across the network.
• Own the financial and operational planning for your area, producing a challenging yet solid plan and testing business assumptions where needed.
• Communicate variance drivers and the actions to close them to Country Finance leads and senior stakeholders, turning analysis into decisions.
• Partner with data and technology teams to automate recurring analysis, and support the adoption of the team's AI and automation tools across the wider finance community.

A day in the life

You will be at the center of how the network builds its performance, so on any given day you might be working with a business owner to understand why an area is performing the way it is and where the next level of productivity will come from, pressure-testing a capacity or productivity plan together to make sure it reaches for the right ambition, or turning what the numbers are telling you into a clear recommendation that moves a decision forward.

Some Of The Questions You Will Help Answer

• Where is the network losing efficiency, and which lever wins it back fastest?
• Is a given variance controllable, or is it driven by network design and service mix?
• How do we shape a capacity or productivity plan so it lands the best balance of cost and service?

No two days look the same, but the thread that ties them together is that you will use data, judgement, and financial rigour to help the network deliver better, faster, and more cost-effectively, working alongside the business to get there.

About The Team As part of the EU AMZL Central Finance team, you will join a team that is passionate about numbers, data, and how to use them to generate insights and improve our business. We partner across countries and delivery stations to strengthen the productivity plan, protect the cost base, and shape where the network invests next, and we are the trusted business advisors to Central Operations leadership, working with our partners to make sure they have the most reliable information and make the best possible decisions.

Basic Qualifications

• A degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or another relevant field
• Relevant experience in a finance role including partnering with a variety of stakeholders across the business
• Relevant experience in managing people
• Relevant experience working with Excel and large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as Python, SQL or Tableau
• Relevant experience in financial modelling

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced or master’s degree in finance, economics or mathematics, such as a CA, CMA, CWA or MBA
• Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
• Experience working in large teams or at a national/multinational organisation
• Experience communicating complex information and solutions to senior stakeholders and influence decisions
