About the Opportunity
We’re a team of risk-minded problem solvers who advise the business on the company’s regulatory obligations and enterprise risk.Our OKX Malta team in particular is responsible for the overall AML and regulatory compliance programs in-country meeting ongoing EU and global applicable requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the MLRO in operating the firm's financial crime compliance framework ensuring adherence to MiCA local AML/CFT law and applicable EU AML/CFT requirements
- Assist in preparing responses to information requests RFIs and inspections from national competent authorities FIUs and European supervisory bodies
- Contribute to enterprise-wide and business-line financial crime risk assessments and support monitoring testing and issue remediation across KYC/CDD transaction monitoring sanctions and blockchain analytics controls
- Partner with Product teams on new product service and token listings to ensure ML/TF risks are assessed and financial crime obligations — including Travel Rule and wallet screening — are addressed before launch
- Build working relationships with stakeholders across Data Engineering Finance Legal Product and Risk to embed financial crime controls into systems and processes
- Support ad hoc projects including regulatory change initiatives and remediation programmes in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Help maintain AML/CFT policies procedures and risk appetite documentation in line with changing regulatory expectations and assist with MLRO reporting to senior management and the Board
- Stay current on developments across the crypto economy and the financial crime landscape — including typologies illicit finance trends blockchain and protocol developments industry participants and EU/national rulemaking guidance and enforcement
What We Look For In You
- 3+ years of experience in AML/CFT compliance within cryptocurrency industry financial services or FinTech ideally combined with some MiFID II compliance experience
- Experience in Client onboarding KYC or AML monitoring
- Regulatory project management skills with attention to detail proactive and well-organized
- Some knowledge of the crypto economy with a strong desire to learn more
- Ability to work within a global working environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
Nice to Haves
- Compliance experience within Traditional Exchanges or Investment banks
- Familiarity with MiCA or Payments rules as well as some understanding of MiFID II regulation
- Experience with AML suspicious transactions fillings
- Interest in leveraging AI tools (in particular Claude) to improve reporting documentation workflow management and productivity.
