Job Description

Description Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing adoption of Amazon Web Services across UK Policing? Do you have the business acumen and technical background necessary to help establish Amazon as a key technology platform provider for law enforcement?

As an Account Manager in Policing, you will have the exciting opportunity to promote the growth and shape the future of cloud technology across UK policing bodies.

The ideal candidate will possess both a business and technical background that enables them to engage at Chief Constable, PCC, and CXO level, as well as with software developers and IT architects. You should be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a territory coverage plan aligned to national policing strategies.

To Succeed In This Role, You’ll Need Experience building strategic relationships with stakeholders, including communicating and collaborating across teams and functions

Experience with pipeline management including utilisation of Salesforce or other CRM tools

Experience in account management, sales, or business development within policing, law enforcement, or public safety

Demonstrated experience working with UK police forces, the Home Office, NCA, College of Policing, or equivalent law enforcement bodies

A track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles typical of policing and public sector procurement

We’d Love It If You Also Bring An understanding of the UK policing landscape, including funding models (Home Office grants, PCC precepts), national programmes, and digital transformation drivers

Familiarity with decision-making structures across policing — Chief Constables, Police and Crime Commissioners, the NPCC, Home Office, CIOs, and procurement bodies

Awareness of sector challenges such as data-led policing, digital evidence management, cross-force interoperability, cloud migration, hybrid working, and operational efficiency

Knowledge of relevant procurement routes (Crown Commercial Service, BlueLight Commercial, G-Cloud, Digital Marketplace)

SC (Security Check) clearance or willingness to undergo clearance

The ability to navigate long, consensus-driven procurement cycles involving multiple stakeholders across forces and national bodies

Experience developing account plans aligned to policing strategies (e.g. National Policing Digital Strategy, Policing Vision 2030, force-level digital transformation programmes)

The ability to articulate technology value propositions in the context of policing outcomes — operational efficiency, data-led decision making, and citizen safety

Key job responsibilities

Promote AWS services across a defined territory of UK policing accounts

Develop and execute a comprehensive account and territory plan aligned to national policing priorities (e.g. National Policing Digital Strategy, Policing Vision 2030)

Create and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services in the context of policing outcomes — including data-led policing, digital evidence management, and interoperability

Facilitate customer adoption of AWS services, navigating complex multi-stakeholder and cross-force procurement processes

Maintain a robust projects pipeline across new and existing policing accounts

Work with partners, systems integrators, and ISVs to extend reach and promote adoption

Contribute to a positive customer experience and build long-term trusted relationships across the policing ecosystem

Engage at senior levels including Chief Constables, Deputy Chief Constables, CIOs, CTOs, and Home Office officials

A day in the life

As an Account Manager in the Policing territory, no two days are the same. You might start the morning preparing for a strategic engagement with a Regional Police leadership team on their cloud-first Digital Policing Platform programme, before joining a cross-functional working session with Solutions Architects and partners to shape a proposal for a next-generation intelligence and analytics capability.

Your internal stakeholders include Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Partner teams, and Specialist sales overlays. Your customers are senior technology and operational leaders within police forces, national law enforcement agencies, Police and Crime Commissioners’ offices. The problems you solve span infrastructure modernisation, secure data sharing across forces, digital evidence management, data-led operational policing, and enabling the sector’s ambition to deliver safer communities through technology.

About The Team Policing is one of the most meaningful verticals in UK Public Sector. The customers you’ll work with are on the front line of keeping people safe, and the technology decisions they make have real-world impact. You’ll be joining a team that cares deeply about getting this right — and you’ll have the backing of the entire AWS ecosystem to help you do it.

We offer a collaborative, high-trust environment where you’ll have genuine ownership of your accounts and the freedom to build your territory your way. If you want to do work that matters, we’d love to hear from you.
