Job description
Morgan Stanley’s HR Data & Analytics team is looking for reporting analyst to join a function providing workforce and talent data and reports to our businesses. Team members will partner closely with our other HR Analytics functions (business intelligence development, firm analytics) and HR Business Partners globally to provide accurate, actionable data and reporting in a timely manner to support more informed decision-making.
We offer:
- A supportive and vibrant multinational environment
- An endless amount of interesting, complex business challenges
- A chance to influence a talent agenda that impacts over 80K employees
- A collegial atmosphere to deliver innovative solutions supported by a world-class team
- An opportunity to drive true, global business change
- Contingent/Leased assignment working onsite at Morgan Stanley
- Contract via 3rd party agency
You will:
- Own reporting requests as mini-projects from discussion to delivery: understand clients’ business questions, opportunities or challenges, clarify desired outcomes, and agree on scope, deliverables and timelines
- Identify the right data sources across our HR systems (e.g. Workday, Power BI, other sources), partner with data owners to get access and find the most efficient way to extract the data
- Combine data from different HR systems: clean, aggregate, join and filter it to fit what the client needs, and turn it into clear, accurate reports
- Keep clients informed, clarify questions and flag scope or timeline changes. Deliver reports promptly, explain findings, confirm they answer the business questions and refine quickly based on feedback
- Advise clients on the best reporting solution, explaining options, benefits and limitations; build subject matter expertise in the team’s data and reporting tools, including BI dashboards
- Spot recurring requests and be an advocate for automation
- Test new data fields, datasets and dashboards before they go live, validate them against existing reports and give feedback that shapes what the wider HR community ends up using
- Build your own QA toolkit: cross-check numbers, reconcile report versions and use AI tools to review complex reports faster and more reliably
You have:
- At least BSc degree
- Experience in data / analytics / reporting field
- High level of comfort and familiarity with data wrangling, cleaning, and manipulation / transformation
- Strength in Excel and familiarity with Power BI or similar analytical platforms (Workday is a plus)
- High attention to detail and focus on cross-checking work independently before distributing
- Comfort in proactively connecting with global clients to understand needs / challenges and respond quickly (strong written, spoken English is required)
- Ability to problem solve independently in an often high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Team profile:
In the Human Resources division, we provide advice and insight to attract, retain, reward and develop a talented workforce, giving employees the support and tools they need to succeed.
