Program Manager, Energy Strategy and Operations

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience managing cross-functional projects and working with technical energy experts and business teams.
• Experience with energy sector, energy markets, infrastructure, and AI tools.
• Experience in business strategy and building roadmaps.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with managing utility agreements, energy-related issues, implementation of clean energy initiatives, and financial modeling.
• Experience shaping strategy in complex regulatory and policy environments.
• Experience with power delivery systems and interest in learning more.
• Experience on flexibility, energy storage and demand-response technologies.
• Background in data center cooling and power design.

As the Program Manager of Energy Strategy and Operations, you will serve as a strategic partner to leadership and the driving force behind the Energy and Power team's most critical initiatives. Your mission spans two connected mandates: partnering on strategy, long-term planning, and special projects that shape the future of Google's energy portfolio, and building, optimizing, and overseeing the internal operational engine that powers day-to-day execution.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor and representative for leadership shaping long-term business planning, evaluating strategic options, and sorting through competing priorities to protect executive focus.
• Lead coordination across key teams (Legal, Finance, Policy, Infrastructure) to improve cross-team collaboration, align goals and timelines, and drive complex initiatives forward.
• Scope, lead, and deliver business-critical projects from initial framing through execution, turning ambiguous challenges into clear, measurable outcomes.
• Identify and remove operational bottlenecks, streamline day-to-day processes, and build the playbooks, resources, and training needed to support sustainable team growth.
• Own the operating schedule for leadership, overseeing executive reporting, team offsites, and key leadership meetings to drive decision-making and accountability.
