Job Description

Oracle’s Java Platform Group is looking for a software engineer with experience in managed runtimes and garbage collection to join their world class development team. This is a great opportunity to work with some of the most experienced and knowledgeable people in the virtual machine space, working on the Java Virtual Machine that is used by millions of developers and Fortune 500 companies around the world.

Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement new Java Virtual Machine garbage collection features and optimizations
  2. Collaborate with the OpenJDK community on potential contributions
  3. Work closely with the rest of the engineering team to review designs and ensure optimum JVM execution performance

Requirements
• Strong proficiency in C++ and multi-threaded development
• Working knowledge of Java development
• Self-motivated and able to independently drive development efforts
• Strong communication and team work skills
• Strong grasp of garbage collection and systems fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with OpenJDK is highly desirable
