Description & Requirements Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We lead the way in breaking news and providing analysis on financial markets, from daily coverage through to in-depth features. We are known for our quality, accuracy and ability to deliver news investors can use. It’s what keeps us inventing and re-inventing, all the time.

Bloomberg News is seeking an ambitious journalist with sharp news judgement, a strong track record in breaking news, and top-notch storytelling abilities to work as a bureau reporter with a focus on the energy beat in Oslo.

This is a high-impact role at the center of one of the world’s most important energy markets, spanning oil and gas, renewables, power, and the policy shifts shaping Europe’s energy transition.

You'll break news consistently, deliver market-moving scoops, and produce sharp, authoritative stories that resonate with a global audience of investors, policymakers and industry leaders. You'll lead coverage of Equinor, bringing exclusive news on strategy, operations, earnings, deals and leadership. You'll be able to dig through data to uncover exclusive news and put things in context.

You'll cultivate deep sources across companies, government, regulators and the financial community. You’ll work closely with the energy team in a real-time environment to connect local developments to international markets and collaborate with reporters across Europe. You'll be available to cover major breaking news out of Norway, ready to jump in on everything from finance to transatlantic developments and Norway's relationship with Europe.

We’ll Trust You To

  • Demonstrate exceptional news judgement
  • Chase scoops
  • Write clear and comprehensive narrative stories
  • Attract top newsmakers

You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience working in business journalism and in a real-time news environment
