Job Description
About Bolt Bolt is shaping a future where cities are built for people, not cars. What started as an ambitious project of a 19-year-old in 2013 has grown into a global mobility platform used by more than 200 million customers and 4.5 million driver and courier partners across 50 countries.
From ride-hailing and food delivery to scooters, e-bikes, and car-sharing, Bolt helps people move through cities every day. Small, autonomous teams drive this work, combining the speed and ownership of a startup with the scale of a global technology company backed by more than €1bn in funding.
And we're just getting started.
Why join Bolt?
- Build the future of mobility and help transform how people live and move in cities.
- Tackle challenges at scale that span technology, operations, regulation, and growth.
- Take real ownership early. Small, lean teams mean your decisions matter from day one, and you'll learn fast alongside some of the best people in the industry.
- Join one of Europe's leading technology companies, backed by world-class investors including Sequoia.
About The Role We’re looking for an analytical and solutions-driven Operations Manager with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to help us grow our ride-hailing operations in Madrid!
Your role will have a direct and tangible impact on local operations that you can see in real-time. If you’re ready to take full ownership of your work, disrupt the marketplace, and shape movement patterns in the urban landscape—here’s your chance! You will be leading the local operations team and working closely with other cross-functional/HQ stakeholders to support our mission to make cities more sustainable, accessible, and affordable.
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
- Marketplace Health & Pricing: Monitor supply-demand balance and key performance metrics (ETAs, driver utilization, acceptance rates) across Spanish cities, executing regular pricing reviews and activating targeted levers to optimize market states.
- Competitive Strategy & Market Share: Analyze competitor dynamics to define, present, and execute targeted action plans that neutralize threats, capitalize on opportunities, and systematically acquire market share from key players.
- Value Proposition & Growth: Develop and execute initiatives (including demand partnerships, new categories, and use cases) informed by direct driver and rider feedback to enhance engagement, competitiveness, and retention.
- B2B & Asset Management: Oversee and manage strategic contracts at critical airports and venues, proactively identifying opportunities and submitting competitive proposals to secure premium positioning.
- Data Analytics & Reporting: Establish weekly and monthly performance reporting frameworks for your domains, translating complex data into clear narratives, actionable insights, and structured plans for local management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership: Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performance team in a psychological safe environment while collaborating with global and local teams—specifically Central Ops and Growth Analytics—to drive business goals.
About You
- You have 5+ years of experience in Operations, Analytics, Consulting, start-up with fast-paced environment or a related field with a strong quantitative component.
- You are a strong communicator: you can write a clear data narrative and present confidently to senior stakeholders.
- You are highly analytical and have a data-driven mindset with excellent Excel skills, yet are not afraid to get your hands dirty if needed.
- You have experience managing or mentoring a team, with a genuine interest in developing people.
- You are fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
- You have a strong sense of ownership with a hands-on approach.
Why you’ll love it here
- Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
- Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.
- Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.
- Celebrate 5 years at Bolt with a 1-month paid sabbatical to recharge.
- Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
- Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in-office days.
Some perks may differ depending on your location and role. At Bolt, using AI daily is a baseline expectation for everyone. If there’s a faster, smarter way to do your work, we expect you to find it. You’re still responsible for the output, so the standard stays high when using AI tools.
Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying!
Everyone is welcome Bolt is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where all qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to race, colour, nationality, religion, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
