Job Description
At Booking.com, data drives our decisions. Technology is at our core. And innovation is everywhere. But our company is more than datasets, lines of code or A/B tests. We’re the thrill of the first night in a new place. The excitement of the next morning. The friends you encounter. The journeys you take. The sights you see. And the memories you make. Through our products, partners and people, we make it easier for everyone to experience the world!
Department & Team Overview This role is part of the Digital Partner Ecosystem (DPE), which helps accommodation partners get more value from Booking.com through connected, intuitive, and scalable digital experiences. DPE combines partner-facing platforms, content, product marketing, commercial advice, education, and self-service support to make it easier for partners to understand, adopt, and use our products and services throughout their partnership lifecycle.
By reducing friction and providing clear, relevant, and personalised guidance at the right moment, DPE enables partners to manage their business more effectively, grow their performance, and ultimately contribute to Booking.com’s top-line results. The department develops and delivers digital strategies across content marketing, product marketing, go-to-market, platform experience, and AI-enabled solutions - creating consistent, measurable, and increasingly self-service ways for partners to engage with us.
Our target audience is all accommodation partners globally who are currently partnered with, or in the process of partnering with, Booking.com. DPE teams support partners across every stage of their journey, making it easier to discover opportunities, understand our products, complete key tasks, find answers, and take action through our digital platforms and channels.
The Lead, UX is responsible for the end-to-end partner experience of Partner Hub as a channel. They drive the UX direction and information architecture for the channel (in alignment with the other channels also using this content), translating partner and business needs into conversion-optimised journeys, intuitive navigation structures, and a shared, reusable component library. The long-term goal of the role is to improve conversion performance (against commercial as well as support related KPIs) and partner satisfaction on the channel.
As the platform moves to a headless architecture, the UX lead defines the component standards and experience requirements that underpin how other leads — owning the editorial and infrastructure layers — build and operate the platform, ensuring the partner experience stays coherent as the delivery model evolves
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Ownership: Scope: Lead the UX workstream within the headless migration, working alongside the leads owning infrastructure and editorial layers to ensure the experience remains coherent as the delivery model evolves.Keep experience quality and partner outcomes central while managing dependencies across content, engineering, and vendor teams.
- Ownership: Performance / Impact: Track and improve UX and conversion metrics (such as PSAT, CTRs, and personalisation performance) and qualitative signals (such as Mouseflow recordings), using these to steer priorities, surface risks, and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.
- Backlog Management: Own and prioritise the UX design and UX technical backlogs — including conversion experiments, page builds, component improvements, A/B tests, bugs, and compliance work — across both the current platform and the headless migration, balancing partner impact, feasibility, and available resources.
- Voice of the Partner: Represent the partner perspective in decisions about platform architecture, CMS structure, and new feature design — highlighting where technical or content model choices create friction, inconsistency, findability issues, or accessibility risk for partners.
- Vendor / Budget Management: Coordinate and challenge external design and engineering resources with clear requirements, priorities, and quality expectations.
Role Qualifications and Requirements:
- Customer Insights — Proven track record of using partner insights and data to understand partner needs and behaviours, and of translating qualitative and quantitative signals into design decisions,
- Design Thinking — Able to develop customer-centric creative solutions that also satisfy business requirements, leading designers and collaborators through the process from problem definition to validated solution.
- Design Systems — Experienced in owning and evolving a component-based design system that serves as the source of truth for a platform — ensuring consistency across journeys, templates, and surfaces.
- Structured Content & Information Architecture — Designs and evolves navigation structures, content hierarchies, and taxonomies that make partner content findable and coherent across channels; including in a headless, multi-surface setup collaborating effectively with the leads owning the CMS and editorial layers.
- Business Acumen — Able to develop an understanding of Booking.com's objectives, key results, partner perspectives, and company operations, and to frame UX work in terms of business and commercial impact.
- Team Collaboration — Strong collaboration skills for engaging with and gaining support from key stakeholders. Positive communication skills to motivate and influence collaborators and lead the delivery of projects and objectives.
- Project Management — Methodical in breaking down complex work and delivering against timelines and agreed quality; able to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively and independently.
- Technical Literacy — Fluent in collaboration with technical teams to deliver and test work based on hypotheses and user stories. Comfortable working with component-driven frontend architectures and understands how design decisions translate to technical implementation.
