Job Description
About Bolt Bolt is shaping a future where cities are built for people, not cars. What started as an ambitious project of a 19-year-old in 2013 has grown into a global mobility platform used by more than 200 million customers and 4.5 million driver and courier partners across 50 countries.
From ride-hailing and food delivery to scooters, e-bikes, and car-sharing, Bolt helps people move through cities every day. Small, autonomous teams drive this work, combining the speed and ownership of a startup with the scale of a global technology company backed by more than €1bn in funding.
And we're just getting started.
Why join Bolt?
- Build the future of mobility and help transform how people live and move in cities.
- Tackle challenges at scale that span technology, operations, regulation, and growth.
- Take real ownership early. Small, lean teams mean your decisions matter from day one, and you'll learn fast alongside some of the best people in the industry.
- Join one of Europe's leading technology companies, backed by world-class investors including Sequoia.
About The Role Bolt for Business (B4B) sells and services business accounts, from SMBs to Enterprise and Strategic Partners, across 25+ markets in Europe, Africa and the rest of the world. Parts of the sales funnel are already automated, but coverage is uneven across markets and a large share still runs on rep time and manual process. As Lead GTM Engineer, you'll take what already works, extend it end to end, and build an AI-native GTM engine so that growth stops being linear in headcount. This is an engineer-first leadership role: you'll architect and write code yourself, stay technical as the team grows, set direction and lead an existing team. You'll report to the VP of Bolt for Business and can be based in London, Lisbon or Tallinn.
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
- Own AI and automation end to end across the full B4B commercial funnel (lead generation and enrichment, qualification and closing, onboarding, lifecycle management and retention). Audit what is already automated, decide what to keep, rebuild or retire, and build a prioritised 12–18 month roadmap tied to commercial outcomes such as pipeline per rep, cost per SQL, time-to-first-order, activation and retention.
- Personally design and ship production AI systems, including agentic workflows, LLM pipelines, evaluation harnesses and integrations across Salesforce, enrichment and sales-engagement tools, Looker and Databricks, staying hands-on in the codebase throughout.
- Lead, retain and develop an existing team of AI/automation engineers and analytics, and hire as the mandate grows. Set and hold the technical bar on architecture, evaluation, monitoring and safe deployment, and earn the team's confidence quickly.
- Work directly with sales leads and reps across markets to drive adoption through change management, enablement and process redesign. Instrument everything, run holdouts and A/B tests where feasible, and report impact honestly, including what didn't work.
- Translate technical work into commercial language for market leads, Finance and leadership, and commercial problems into technical specs for the team. Own data quality, GDPR compliance for outbound and enrichment, EU AI Act readiness, and vendor and build-vs-buy decisions.
About You
- Strong hands-on engineering depth (Python, APIs, SQL, workflow orchestration, cloud infrastructure), writing and reviewing production code, with proven experience shipping LLM-based systems that run in production and that other people depend on, such as agents, tool use, RAG and structured extraction.
- Rigorous about evaluation and monitoring: you've built eval sets, measured model output quality systematically, and can explain how you caught regressions before users did. Experience with MLOps at scale, experimentation and causal inference (holdouts, incrementality) is a plus.
- Proven experience integrating AI systems into messy real-world business systems (CRM, data warehouse, third-party APIs) and building for heterogeneous markets, including emerging ones, where data quality, languages, regulation and process maturity differ. You design systems that degrade gracefully, and you're comfortable inheriting and improving systems someone else built. Awareness of GDPR and EU AI Act requirements, and of how data protection and outbound rules differ outside the EU, is a plus.
- Demonstrated ownership of a GTM or revenue system (CRM architecture, sales engagement, enrichment, marketing automation) or clear evidence of learning a commercial domain fast, plus a track record of taking an ambiguous mandate, framing it, sequencing it and delivering measurable business results. Experience in growth engineering, sales productivity, marketplaces, mobility, fintech or high-velocity B2B SaaS is a plus.
- Experience managing engineers directly, including performance conversations and retention, and excellent written and verbal English that works with both sales leaders and engineers. Familiarity with Salesforce, Looker, Databricks, Outreach/Clay-type tooling or n8n, and additional languages relevant to our markets, are a plus.
Why you'll love it here
- Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
- Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.
- Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.
- Celebrate 5 years at Bolt with a 1-month paid sabbatical to recharge.
- Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
- Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in-office days.
Some perks may differ depending on your location and role.
At Bolt, using AI daily is a baseline expectation for everyone. If there's a faster, smarter way to do your work, we expect you to find it. You're still responsible for the output, so the standard stays high when using AI tools.
Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don't tick every box, please consider applying!
Everyone is welcome Bolt is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where all qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to race, colour, nationality, religion, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are happy to make reasonable accommodations throughout our hiring process. If you require any adjustments, please let us know.
