Job Description
Who you are
- 2+ years of experience in a Software Engineering role managing Continuous Integration platforms
- Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js
- Understanding of at least one modern JavaScript framework such as Angular or React
- Experience with the release process: Source code control, package installers, build scripts, Docker, etc
- Familiar with various JavaScript build and bundling tools such as Webpack, Nx, or Moonrepo
- Able to work independently and deliver projects involving a wide variety of technologies and systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Your heart in the right place, a good sense of humor and a genuine interest in the people you work with
- Experience with Buildkite
- Experience with the Elasticsearch platform
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience in distributed systems
- Experience with AI tools and workflows to enhance the developer experience
- Experience with open source projects
What the job involves
- We are looking for a hands-on developer in the Application Experience Operations team, which is responsible for building and maintaining CI systems and developer tools that shorten the development feedback loop for Kibana, facilitate automated testing, and regularly capture and surface quality and performance metrics
- The team also provides ongoing developer tooling support and documentation to ensure that other developers have the highest level of productivity
- You’ll collaborate with teams across Elastic, supporting hundreds of developers who build on top of the Kibana platform and shaping a robust, cloud-native developer experience
- Develop and maintain build, test, and deployment tools and environments
- Provide enhancements to our continuous integration pipeline
- Develop, collect, and analyze developer experience metrics
- Maintain and update critical dependencies
- Work collaboratively with other developer focused teams throughout Elastic
- Provide technical feedback to engineers through code reviews
- Provide ongoing support to developers to ensure a smooth day-to-day experience
