Job description

What To Expect
Tesla was founded in 2003 with the goal of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy and protecting the planet Earth. Through solar energy, batteries, and electric vehicles, we are building a world of amazing abundance.

At Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, we manufacture the Model Y, and starting in 2027, we’ll produce everything from battery cells to electric vehicles. This is unique in Europe. Our international team consists of over 12,000 employees from 130 countries. We hire talent at all skill levels - prior experience in the automotive industry is not required. Would you like to help write the next chapter in Tesla’s success story and work at one of Germany’s most modern workplaces? Then this is the right place for you!

We are currently looking for a Workplace Technician (m/f/d) to join our team at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg - S3 Level.

The Workplace Technician is an advanced-level role responsible for executing complex tasks in workplace operations at facilities like the Gigafactory Berlin. This position involves high autonomy, creativity, and leadership in handling daily operations, event support, logistics, and process improvements. The technician standardizes tasks, mentors junior staff, and contributes to strategic projects while ensuring efficient and safe operations.

What You'll Do- Perform daily tasks at an advanced competency level based on orders in systems such as CMMS, Flux, MS Planner, MS Outlook, and MS Teams.

  • Handle daily tickets including furniture assembly, transportation and movements from point A to B, small repairs, setup or replacement of breakroom and office equipment, regular equipment status checks, and delivery of office supplies (e.g., printer paper, laminating foil).

  • Manage workplace goods, including receiving deliveries, storage, delivery, and transport.

  • Perform vinyl foil installation

  • Execute complex tasks requiring advanced experience, creativity, and autonomy, even without predefined instructions.

  • Standardize tasks and provide guidance to lower-level employees to enhance team efficiency and scalability.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for event support (intermediate to advanced level), coordinating setup and teardown for small events (e.g., in Bar Y, Funkhaus, or Globus; onboarding sessions) and large events (e.g., Christmas parties, works council meetings, EOL events).

  • Support installation of AV equipment, including mounting TV brackets and assisting AV technicians with wall-mounting TVs.

  • Maintain coffee robots and vending machines in areas like the lobby and gym.

  • Actively define, edit, and update work processes in Confluence to document, optimize, and continuously improve procedures.

  • Process orders in the Punchout catalog as needed, including small orders for tools and materials, orders for other customers, and project orders in coordination with project managers.

  • Participate in meetings with project managers, coordinators, supervisors, and managers to advance projects and provide input.

  • Engage in strategic meetings for assigned areas with active communication to contribute ideas and influence decisions.

  • Create daily updates during important projects in team chats (e.g., MS Teams) and tickets to ensure transparency and progress.
What You'll Bring- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (German and English at C1 level) for active participation in strategic meetings, providing team updates in MS Teams/tickets, and influencing decisions.

  • Strong customer service background with a "can-do" attitude, serving as the main point of contact for event support and internal customers.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a professional and mature demeanor when interacting with internal clients, department staff, suppliers, and team members (e.g., during onboarding, coordination, or feedback sessions).

  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, with eagerness to learn and try new things, including complex tasks requiring creativity and autonomy.

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, accept directions, standardize processes, and guide lower-level employees to improve team efficiency.

  • Strong coordination and problem-solving skills for event setup/teardown (small to large) and handling large tickets/projects with high autonomy.

  • Physical and Safety Requirements

  • Willingness to sit, stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods during installations, repairs, or event setups.

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs (approximately 23+ kg) for transport tasks, furniture assembly, or logistics work.

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, vests, safety shoes, and helmets, as required for safe operations.

  • 1 year Experience as a Workplace Technician or similar position

  • Candidates are expected to uphold and actively promote sustainability principles in their daily work, operating in line with Tesla Global Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Policy and EMAS requirements, fostering a culture of continuous environmental improvement.
