We are looking for a Government Relations Lead for the Africa region to advocate company interests through direct engagement with policymakers and peer industry bodies.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Support Sumsub's public policy and government relations strategy across Africa — prioritizing Nigeria Kenya South Africa and Francophone West/Central Africa — with a focus on fintech cryptocurrency DeFi and digital identity regulation.

• Build and maintain relationships with regulators government ministries and law enforcement (e.g.

  CBN CBK SARB/FSCA BCEAO/regional Francophone regulators) to advocate for clear fair and innovation-friendly compliance frameworks.

• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments across these priority markets identifying trends and providing actionable insights to global stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Sumsub's Legal Compliance and Product teams to align policy advocacy with business goals and market-entry needs in these regions.

• Represent Sumsub in panels roundtables and conferences articulating our thought leadership on compliance technology digital trust and risk management.

• Coordinate with Sumsub's global government relations team to ensure regional alignment and knowledge sharing.

• Prepare policy briefings speaking materials and position papers to support internal and external communications.

About You:

• 3–5 years of experience in public policy government relations or regulatory affairs.

  Experience in fintech gambling crypto or DeFi sectors strongly preferred.

• Exposure to regulatory frameworks in Nigeria Kenya South Africa and/or Francophone West or Central Africa is strongly preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  French Swahili Afrikaans or other African languages are a plus.

• Confident public speaker able to represent Sumsub at panels and industry events.

• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage effectively with policymakers and industry stakeholders.

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% across priority African markets and internationally.
