Job Description
The energy of a newsroom, the pace of a trading floor, the buzz of a recent tech breakthrough; we work hard, and we work fast - while keeping up the quality and accuracy we're known for. It's what keeps us inventing and reinventing, all the time. Our culture is wide open, just like our spaces. We bring out the best in each other through collaboration. Through our countless volunteer projects, we also help network with the communities around us, too. You can do amazing work here. Work you couldn't do anywhere else. It's up to you to make it happen.
What's the Role?
At Bloomberg, our people are our most valuable asset. Enabling their success directly contributes to the success of our business. As a member of the Global People Services (GPS) team, you will play an important role in delivering a seamless onboarding experience for new hires across EMEA.
In this 12-month fixed-term role, you will take ownership of the onboarding experience for new hires across EMEA, providing clear, accurate and timely guidance, coordinating with colleagues across HR and the wider organisation to help ensure a smooth transition into
Bloomberg. You'll anticipate employee needs, proactively resolve issues and use sound judgment to ensure employees feel informed and supported throughout their onboarding journey.
Alongside onboarding, you'll support aspects of the employee offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews and capturing meaningful insights
from departing employees. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to GPS projects and process improvements, helping us continually improve how we deliver these important employee experiences.
This is a role for someone who enjoys combining people interaction with operational excellence. You'll manage a high volume of activity while maintaining accuracy, exercise sound judgment when navigating sensitive situations, and look for opportunities to simplify and improve the way we work.
As part of GPS, you'll also contribute to broader team initiatives, knowledge sharing and projects as our priorities evolve.
We’ll trust you to:
- Own the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires across EMEA, helping ensure a smooth and successful transition into Bloomberg.
- Act as a key point of contact for new hires throughout the onboarding process, providing clear, accurate and timely guidance.
- Manage onboarding activities across multiple teams and stakeholders, ensuring key actions are completed accurately and on time.
- Proactively identify and resolve onboarding issues, working with colleagues across HR and the wider organisation where needed.
- Maintain accurate employee information and manage relevant onboarding and offboarding activities through Workday.
- Support the offboarding experience for employees across EMEA, including conducting exit interviews with departing employees.
- Build trust and rapport with employees to facilitate thoughtful and constructive exit conversations.
- Capture feedback and identify themes from the onboarding and offboarding experience, sharing insights that can help improve our processes and employee experience.
- Manage multiple priorities and a high volume of activity while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and a high standard of service.
- Handle confidential and sensitive employee information with care, professionalism and sound judgment.
- Build effective relationships with colleagues across GPS, Talent Acquisition, and other teams involved in the onboarding and offboarding experience.
- Identify and drive opportunities to simplify and improve processes and bring forward practical ideas and solutions.
- Contribute to GPS projects and initiatives across EMEA as team and business priorities evolve.
- Take on additional operational tasks, audits and ad hoc responsibilities as the role evolves and business needs change.
You’ll need to have:
- 2+ years of experience working within an HR, People Operations, employee services or similarly people-focused environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with employees and stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating processes involving multiple stakeholders and moving parts.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of activity and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering an accurate and high-quality employee experience.
- Ability to work with discretion, diplomacy and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive information
- Good judgment and the ability to be proactive, take initiative and seek out solutions.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to develop effective working relationships across teams.
- Curiosity to understand how processes work and identify opportunities to make them more effective.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and contribute to projects and responsibilities outside of your core remit when needed.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
We’d love to see:
- Previous experience supporting employee onboarding and/or offboarding.
- Experience using Workday or a similar HR information system.
- Experience working within a global, matrixed environment.
- Exposure to HR projects, process improvement or operational initiatives.
