Field Operations Transition Program Manager (contract)

Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions (AGS). If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.

Role Summary This role acts as the bridge between Data Center Construction teams and Operations teams.

The person will ensure newly built data centers are ready to be handed over smoothly into live operations. They will coordinate engineering, construction, commissioning, vendors, and operations stakeholders, ensuring all documentation, processes, equipment, and support structures are in place before handover.

This is a highly cross-functional program/project management role within the data center environment.

Key Responsibilities Transition & Handover

• Own the transition of new data centers into Operations.
• Act as the primary point of contact between project teams and Operations.
• Ensure all operational readiness activities are completed before handover.

Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
• Work with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain communication across all project phases.

Construction & Operational Readiness

• Review designs and identify operational risks.
• Support engineering teams with operational input.
• Capture and share lessons learned from previous projects.
• Escalate equipment quality issues and drive remediation.

Site Readiness

• Support onboarding of new Operations teams.

• Assist with mobilization activities including:

• Spares

• Tools

• Consumables

• Participate in:

• Site acceptance walks

• Beneficial use inspections

• Building turnover activities

Documentation & Compliance

• Review:

• O&M manuals

• As-built drawings

• Record drawings

• Permits

• Certificates

• Warranty documentation

• Participate in turnover issue reviews and operational impact assessments.

Must-Have Skills (Non-Negotiable) Core Experience

• Data center infrastructure experience.
• Experience delivering technology deployment projects OR supporting IT infrastructure.

Program / Project Coordination

• Experience managing multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to coordinate activities across technical and operational teams.
• Experience driving projects from planning through execution.

Data Center Knowledge Strong Understanding Of

• Critical infrastructure

• Ability to represent Operations in design, construction, and transition meetings.

• Building Management Systems (BMS) experience.
• Automation and controls knowledge.
• Vendor and maintenance contract setup experience.
• Greenfield data center launch experience.

Experience Level Guidance

• 2+ years delivering server/network deployment projects in large-scale environments

• Location: Dublin 22, D,Ireland (Remote)
• Duration: 8 months 19 days
• Pay Range: €334/day to €376/day (PAYE)
• Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
