Job description

Job Description
Are you an experienced 1st Line risk professional who enjoys working close to the business and supporting responsible transformation in a Nordic bank?

Danske Bank is building up its 1st Line of Defence in Poland. We are hiring an experienced Tribe Risk Partner to support tribes developing and maintaining financing processes, products and systems for personal and business customers.

The workplace is located in Warsaw, Poland. Danske Bank supports workplace flexibility (we currently use a hybrid work model, where we work at least 3-4 days in the office).

This role does not include a relocation allowance.

What You Will Be Doing
As a trusted advisor to Product Owners, Process Owners and Business Analysts, you will on your own drive risk activities, provide practical advice and constructive challenge, and help business owners fulfil their risk responsibilities:

  • Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs): lead and facilitate RCSAs, constructively challenge risk and control assessments, and drive quality, follow-up and approvals through existing governance structures
  • Product governance & lifecycle risk: advise Product Owners throughout design, change and lifecycle activities, ensuring risks, controls and mitigation actions are assessed and documented
  • GDPR / privacy risk assessments: drive and coordinate GDPR-related assessments (e.g., impact assessments where relevant), ensuring risks and required actions are clear and followed through
  • AI risk management & governance: guide AI use case owners through the AI Assessment Process, from early scoping to implementation readiness, coordinating relevant risk assessments and engaging specialists and 2nd Line functions where required
  • Incidents, issues & remediation: support reviews, escalation and mitigation, follow up on audit findings and high-risk items, and identify trends to prevent recurrence
  • Risk awareness & training: build risk awareness through day-to-day dialogue, meetings, and regular updates - making risk management practical, not bureaucratic

About You

  • You have 5+ years of risk management experience, preferably in financial services or consulting, with strong direct 1st Line experience. You have personally conducted complex risk assessments and advised business stakeholders across borders on RCSAs, product governance, privacy risk, and incident and issue management.
  • You understand AI-related risks and governance and can guide business owners through multidisciplinary assessments and approval requirements. Experience supporting AI-enabled initiatives, including generative or agentic AI, would be advantageous.
  • You have strong communication and stakeholder management skills and can constructively challenge senior stakeholders while aligning business and specialist perspectives across teams and lines of defence.
  • You bring strong analytical skills and sound risk judgement, take a structured approach to prioritising demands, and turn complex requirements into practical advice.
  • You have an open and inclusive mindset and collaborate effectively with colleagues across the Nordic countries, Poland, Lithuania and India.
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English.
  • An understanding of financing, including business processes, products, customer journeys, and operating models, would be an advantage.

What We Offer
At Danske Bank, you will join a collaborative and inclusive environment with strong opportunities for learning and development. You will work in an attractive office setting in Warsaw and be part of a team that values execution, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

“We celebrate multiple approaches and points of view. We believe diversity drives innovation.”
