Job description
Description
Our team is seeking a Environmental Compliance Manager who will lead and drive environmental operational excellence across our Operations in Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia (together Central and Eastern Europe - CEU). They will also provide technical support at our existing operations and future expansion across CEU.
This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Regional Environmental Leader for Middle Europe. You will work closely with operations leadership and the Workplace Health and Safety organization to embed environmental compliance into daily site operations. As you grow, you can expect to move from hands-on execution to leading programs across a broader set of sites and topics, with a clear path toward owning compliance areas across Europe or stepping into a team leadership position.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead environmental compliance programs aligned with the EU directives and corresponding national legislation, providing technical guidance to facilities across Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia
- Conduct environmental risk assessments at regional sites, identify and prioritize gaps, and develop site-specific mitigation plans using ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 frameworks
- Work with operations leadership and the Workplace Health and Safety organization to integrate environmental compliance requirements into daily workflows and training
- Interpret and apply EU directives and country-specific environmental regulations, coordinating with Legal on permit applications, regulatory inquiries, and authority submissions
- Build repeatable compliance mechanisms across facilities, track key performance indicators, and report results to internal stakeholders
A day in the life
You will split your time between on-site visits across the Middle Europe region and desk-based program work. A typical morning might involve reviewing compliance data in Microsoft Office tools and preparing guidance for an upcoming facility audit, while the afternoon could see you on-site walking a local team through new energy reporting requirements. You will regularly work with Legal to engage regulators and with site leaders to roll out environmental training. Priorities shift as new regulations take effect or urgent compliance questions come up, so the ability to adapt quickly is important.
