Job description
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience in backend or full stack product development
- 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams
- You’re highly technical, enough to solve almost any problem your team has yourself, but you prefer to guide your team into solving them
- Ability to work independently. You’ll be working with stakeholders that are mostly based in North America. You need to be able to make decisions and solve problems autonomously
- Excellent communication skills. You must be able to collaborate effectively with teams in a fully-remote environment and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences
What the job involves
- Our ads team is developing Dynamic Product Ads, enabling us to match users to specific advertiser products. Our vision is for Reddit’s product ads to be highly relevant and contextual. A user browsing r/golf sees ads for popular golf clubs. A user reading a thread on r/buyitforlife about sunglasses sees ads for the exact models being discussed, just a few clicks away from a purchase. To achieve this vision, we need a highly scalable catalog infrastructure and intuitive user experience to onboard thousands of advertisers and ingest millions of products into our systems
- As the Engineering Manager for the Product Catalogs team at Reddit, you will lead the full stack team responsible for our entire advertiser-facing experience. You will build UIs, APIs, and backend systems that manage advertisers’ products. The team also works closely with the knowledge graph teams to power organic shopping. This role combines technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a drive to understand and deliver on customer needs
- Create a world-class catalogs system that can scale to support billions of products
- Work closely with product managers and designers to craft compelling user experiences
- Collaborate with a wide range of teams, from Ad Formats to Ad Delivery, to ensure successful end-to-end delivery of product ads
- Establish and manage SLAs within your team
- Be a strong mentor and cross-functional advocate for your team
- Contribute meaningfully to team strategy. We give everyone a seat at the table and encourage active participation in planning for the future. Don’t just come along for the ride
Benefits
- Comprehensive health benefits
- Flexible vacation & Reddit global days off
- Family planning funds & 4+ months paid parental leave
- Personal & professional development funds
- Paid volunteer time off
- Workspace & home office benefits
