Job description

Position summary

The Director of Enterprise Treasury Platforms owns the strategy, operating model, portfolio, and measurable outcomes for the global Treasury systems and Treasury Management System landscape supporting Booking.com and the wider Booking Holdings environment.

The Director translates Booking.com and Booking Holdings priorities into a clear multi-year strategy, target-state capabilities, investment choices, roadmaps, governance, and delivery outcomes. They connect Treasury business needs, platform architecture, controls, data, integrations, implementation execution, vendor performance, and sustainable operations.

The role is a strategic thought partner to Treasury and Technology leadership. It operates at both the strategic and execution level: simplifying complex choices, making trade-offs explicit, enabling timely decisions, and ensuring that teams and partners deliver resilient, compliant, value-generating Treasury capabilities.

Scope and mandate

  • The 24–48 month strategy and target operating model for the Treasury systems and TMS portfolio.
  • The portfolio roadmap, prioritization logic, investment recommendations, resource trade-offs, and delivery commitments within the agreed governance and delegated authority.
  • Treasury platform outcomes across ongoing operations, strategic initiatives, implementations, stabilization, integrations, controls, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Clear separation of business ownership, product ownership, technical/platform accountability, process ownership, and vendor accountability.
  • A scalable global operating model across the relevant Booking.com and Booking Holdings entities, brands, locations, and partner teams.
  • The health and capability of the leadership and professional teams delivering the portfolio, whether directly or through matrixed leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Set the multi-year Treasury systems strategy and target operating model, aligned to Booking.com and Booking Holdings priorities.
  • Own the Treasury/TMS portfolio, including prioritization, investment recommendations, roadmap delivery, resource trade-offs, and delegated decision-making.
  • Deliver resilient, scalable Treasury capabilities across platforms, integrations, controls, reporting, implementations, stabilization, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead portfolio governance, risk, controls, compliance, audit readiness, service health, and timely escalation of material issues.
  • Align Treasury, Finance, Technology, brands, BHI stakeholders, and external partners around clear outcomes, accountability, and enterprise trade-offs.
  • Build a high-performing leadership and delivery organization through effective delegation, talent development, succession planning, and disciplined operating cadence.

Required Qualifications

  • Significant leadership experience in Treasury systems, financial systems, enterprise applications, or a closely related platform and transformation organization.
  • Deep Treasury business acumen, including treasury operating processes, controls, reporting, banking connectivity, payments infrastructure, and Treasury Management Systems.
  • Proven experience owning or leading multi-year, cross-functional transformation portfolios involving Finance, Treasury, Technology, and senior business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing strategy, target operating models, portfolio governance, prioritization mechanisms, decision rights, and investment trade-offs.
  • Experience leading through managers, senior leaders, and matrixed teams in a global, multi-location organization.
  • Experience managing implementation partners, technology vendors, and/or banking service providers with accountability for outcomes and service quality.
  • Strong judgment and experience operating in environments with complex financial, control, regulatory, audit, or policy requirements.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to simplify complexity, challenge assumptions, influence without authority, and move senior leaders toward decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, organizational change, large-scale implementation, stabilization, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong financial, analytical, risk-management, and problem-solving capability, with disciplined follow-through.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with FIS Quantum, FIS Payment Hub, or comparable Treasury Management and payment platforms.
  • Experience with global Treasury centralization, operating-model redesign, bank connectivity, or enterprise-wide control standardization.
  • Experience in a publicly traded, highly regulated, multi-brand, or complex international organization.
  • Experience with post-go-live stabilization, hypercare, service management, and long-term platform support economics.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in Finance, Treasury, Business, Economics, Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Success measures

  • A clear, credible, and adopted 24–48 month Treasury systems strategy, target operating model, and prioritized roadmap.
  • Improved resilience, availability, service quality, recoverability, control effectiveness, audit readiness, and risk visibility across the Treasury/TMS landscape.
  • Predictable delivery of agreed strategic outcomes, with timely decisions, transparent dependencies, disciplined escalation, and benefits realization.
  • Improved value and cost discipline across investments, vendors, support models, and platform lifecycle decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder confidence in the Director’s leadership, communication, judgment, enterprise perspective, and ability to simplify complexity.
  • Clear accountability across business ownership, process ownership, platform ownership, technical delivery, and vendor delivery.
  • A strong leadership structure with effective delegation, succession coverage, improved capability, and reduced tactical firefighting and unnecessary upward escalation.
  • Evidence that teams and partners understand material changes, adopt agreed ways of working, and sustain improvements after implementation.
