Control Systems Engineer

Who you are

• The ideal candidate will need a broad background in data center or critical environment control systems, IT infrastructure, networking, programming, mechanical facility operations, electrical power monitoring, project management, and demonstrate strong leadership skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
• Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
• Knowledge of critical data center equipment
• Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and standard operating procedures
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA
• Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
• Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations, with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure
• Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains

What the job involves

• We are looking for a Controls Engineer who is passionate about data center operations and automated sequences to increase efficiency and availability
• In this role, you will be providing support and developing mechanisms for the next-generation control system design, sequence development, hardware integration, I/O mapping tables, and engineering specifications
• You will apply your creative and critical problem-solving skills to develop solutions at scale
• Above all, you will care deeply about the customer and delight in creating simple solutions that solve our customers’ biggest challenges
• Have deep knowledge of critical infrastructure, building operations, mechanical plant strategies, BMS/EPMS programming concepts, control diagrams, industrial HVAC, electrical line-ups, one-line diagrams, and complex environmental and electrical concepts
• Lead and facilitate collaboration with multiple teams, including construction, operation, commissioning, software development and sourcing to deliver for customers
• Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital control systems and the ability to test and write modifications in multiple system software languages
• Provide QA/QC oversight of hardware installation, reviewing proposals and programming through the commissioning process
• Experience with data center redundancy, mechanical failure strategies, energy and water conservation practices, and data reporting analytics
• Knowledge of operating in high-security critical environments while maximizing productivity
• Innovate new solutions to support team, initiative, and company goals
• Create and maintain specification documents for global projects
• Develop and support mechanisms for mechanical and electrical controls products
• Interact with AWS cloud services and other applications to present, archive, and analyze accumulated data
