Overview

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud.  We are responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the network that powers the world’s largest online services.

Within CO+I, the Contracts Management team is responsible for establishing a construction services supply chain that can meet and deliver services to support the ever-growing growth of the Cloud and our customers. We support a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter construction projects.

We are looking to fill the role of Campus Contract Manager to lead the procurement and contracts management of data center build projects in the Cologne region of Germany, as we continue to develop our build program across the Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA) region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end procurement and contract management process for large-scale mission critical construction projects, ensuring successful delivery against cost, schedule, quality, and risk objectives.
  • Develop and execute sourcing, procurement, and commercial strategies for construction services, infrastructure equipment, and professional services contracts valued in excess of €100M.
  • Drive complex contract negotiations with suppliers and contractors, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve favorable commercial, operational, and risk management outcomes.
  • Manage all aspects of contract administration, including notices, change orders, claims, disputes, amendments, and contractual compliance, serving as the primary contractual subject matter expert for project teams.
  • Oversee supplier performance throughout the project lifecycle, monitoring delivery against contractual commitments, implementing corrective actions, and fostering continuous performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, legal, finance, and project management teams to identify risks, resolve commercial issues, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services in line with project requirements.
  • Champion process improvement and digital transformation initiatives by leveraging data analytics, automation, and procurement technology solutions to simplify workflows, enhance reporting, and improve procurement outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field AND proven years of experience in Commercial / Contractual Construction Role OR Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying,  Engineering, Supply Chain or related field AND proven years of experience in Commercial / Contractual Construction Role OR equivalent experience.

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Sourcing and Category Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Germany is € 92,800.00 - € 176,200.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
