Job Description

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 1 year of experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular, Java, GraphQL.

The BigQuery UI (BQUI) team ( go/bqui ) is on a mission to design and build a world-class, intuitive, and powerful experience for BigQuery, one of Google Cloud's cornerstone products. We are the creative force behind the BigQuery (BQ) user interface in the Google Cloud Console ( go/pantheon ), enabling thousands of Data Analysts, Scientists, Engineers, and Administrators to unlock the potential of their business data. Our team's charter comprises the end-to-end user experience for key BigQuery journeys, including creating a welcoming and frictionless path for users new to BigQuery, building the User Interface (UI) to help customers easily transition their data to the Google cloud, and delivering intuitive interfaces for at-scale data protection and management.

- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Write product or system development code; Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Work closely with BigQuery backend teams, Product, Managers, User Experience (UX) Researchers, and UX Designers on improvements to Cloud Data Analytics Products.
- Design, build new or improve components use by features for Cloud Data Analytics Front Ends; Collaborate with other Data Analytics UI teams and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) teams whilst creating/using shared/common components in the Cloud Console (e.g., Pantheon).
