  • Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
  • Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
  • Experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking
  • Experience working with end user or developer communities
  • Experience in the financial services industry

What the job involves

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join our Financial Services team, focusing on Capital Markets customers in the UK
  • As a trusted technical advisor, you will help leading financial institutions innovate and transform their business using AWS technologies
  • Solutions Architects work hand in hand with AWS customers to help them make the most of the Cloud
  • They own the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS and make recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency
  • They work to understand the customer's business needs and give prescriptive guidance on how to create business value with technology
  • To do this they collaborate with other teams such as account management, professional services, support, product teams and the AWS partner ecosystem
  • In this role you will get to practice your creativity, linking technology to tangible solutions and educating AWS customers about the art of the possible within a diverse and evolving market
  • You will work closely with an Account Executive to help customers achieve their outcomes using AWS technology
  • The Solutions Architecture team is a diverse group of technologists from a variety of backgrounds
  • Practical knowledge of the AWS platform is desired but not required, provided you have a sound technical foundation and a desire to learn
  • Own the technical relationship with the customer and operate as their trusted advisor. The best interests of the customer will shape the guidance you provide
  • Lead technical discussions, architecture design and reviews, and workshops across trading, risk, post-trade, market data, asset and wealth management domains to drive business value
  • Design scalable and secure solutions leveraging AWS services and emerging technologies (AI/ML, HPC)
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop and execute customer engagement strategies
  • Create technical content and reference architectures for capital markets use cases
  • Influence AWS product roadmap based on customer needs
