Job Description
- The Office of the SVP, Engineering is redefining how software gets built, tested, and delivered across Salesforce
- We’re looking for a Senior Member of Technical Staff to help build the next generation of our core engineering platforms and automation systems — infrastructure that thousands of engineers rely on every day to ship high-quality products faster and with more confidence
- You’ll work hands-on across the platform’s architecture, contribute directly to its technical direction, and help mentor engineers as the team grows
- Design and build large-scale, multi-region infrastructure platforms and automation systems that directly improve the developer experience
- Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for our core engineering platform’s evolution and modernization, keeping it aligned with business priorities
- Lead proof-of-concepts, evaluate emerging technologies, and run platform research to keep our engineering capabilities current
- Analyze complex, large-scale systems to find and fix root causes of instability, performance bottlenecks, or technical debt
- Mentor engineers with hands-on technical guidance and code-level support
- Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to engineering peers, partner teams, and leadership

- With 9 standard holidays and four floating holidays, you get a total 13 paid days off each year- Working knowledge of CI/CD platform architecture, including Jenkins Enterprise, GitHub Actions, and custom pipeline orchestration
- Hands-on expertise with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, service mesh, advanced orchestration patterns)
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
- Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS), including networking, security, and serverless services
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, with hands-on proficiency in Java and AWS
- Understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven patterns, and the challenges of platform scalability
- Strong understanding of the Salesforce Platform, including its APIs (Metadata, Tooling, REST), declarative automation (Flows), and security model (Profiles, Permission Sets)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical topics clearly to varied audiences, including senior leadership
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code at scale, using tools like Terraform Enterprise or custom-built solutions
- A track record of architecting and implementing large-scale, distributed systems serving thousands of users
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (SOX, FedRAMP, GDPR, or industry-specific requirements)
- Experience with modern data platforms — data lakes, streaming platforms like Kafka
- Professional experience with additional languages such as Python or Node.js
- Familiarity with the wider Salesforce ecosystem, including MuleSoft and Tableau
- Experience on large-scale Salesforce implementations for enterprise customers
