What the job involves
- In this role, you'll drive Production Finance operations for Amazon Studios' UK slate - acting as the financial controller across the full production lifecycle, from greenlight through final cost close-out
- You'll define how we measure, report, and communicate financial performance across UK productions, owning the metrics and dashboards that inform executive decision-making
- With full autonomy over funding, controllership, and compliance, you'll be the person leadership relies on to surface risks early, explain variances clearly, and keep financial operations running cleanly at pace
- You'll also set the standard for how the broader team works - simplifying processes, scaling tools, and raising the bar for production finance across the EU organisation
- Amazon MGM Studios is one of the UK's largest investors in film and television production, with a permanent production home at Bray Film Studios and a long-term presence at Shepperton Studios
- Our UK-produced originals span scripted drama, feature films, and tentpole series reaching hundreds of millions of Prime Video customers globally
- We operate with a start-up mentality inside a global organisation - small, collaborative teams that move quickly, take ownership, and solve complex problems at scale
- At Amazon, we believe that in-person collaboration is essential to our culture and innovation
- While we allow flexibility for personal circumstances, we generally expect employees to work from our offices five days a week
- This approach has consistently shown that spontaneous interactions, rapid problem-solving, and the energy of in-person teamwork lead to better results for our customers
- In particular, our data shows that teams working together in person are more effective at making complex decisions, onboarding new team members, and fostering the kind of creative collaboration that has driven Amazon's success
- The serendipitous hallway conversations and impromptu whiteboarding sessions that happen naturally in an office environment have proven invaluable to our invention process and maintaining our high bar for excellence
- Lead Production Finance operations for Amazon Studios film and television projects in the UK, independently managing all stages of the production lifecycle
- Define and own the production finance metrics and reporting strategy - executive dashboards, management reporting, and operational KPIs
- Serve as financial controller for UK productions - ensuring controllership oversight, error-free reporting, and proactive compliance risk resolution
- Oversee production funding in multiple currencies, managing cash disbursement controls to support production activities and mitigate financial risk
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships with external production companies, finance partners and public bodies
- Drive month-end close (cash flow, costs, accruals); identify variances, articulate root causes, and communicate findings to leadership
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Creative, Business Affairs, Legal, Accounting, and Production to execute payments and resolve financial issues
- Invent and simplify - improve, scale, or automate processes and tools across teams, setting standards that others can follow
